1984 Olson 40 40' Olson '84 "Pohono"
Olson 40's were designed as ultralight performance yachts. Easily driven in light air and capable of planing down wind. Comfortable interior make these boats excellent cruisers that can click off the miles. Pohono has had the keel area reinforced and a more modern IMX 38 spade rudder installed. Olson 40s are a design "before their time". Still very competitive and sporty. 20 knots is common in these slippery boats. They are stable and comfortable in all points of sail, especially downwind. ONO has had the problematic chain-plates replaced, a customized galley, and has more cost effective wire standing rigging instead of rod. She's mostly stock, and in great cosmetic condition.
