The seller believes one of the engines has a blown head gasket as the water was recently discovered in the oil. reduced price is to help the buyer overcome this repair expense. The exterior and hull have been painted and look very good for their age with only minor surface rust on the keel which should be expected on a steel hull boat. The interior is much nicer than the age would suggest as all the window beddings, seas and gaskets are water tight. Stock #308434 1974 RIVER QUEEN 44 HOUSEBOAT LOVINGLY RESTORED TO FULL GLORY GREAT LOOP This 1974 River Queen is a 44' houseboat located in Texarkana, Texas. Manufactured and designed near Lake Michigan, the River Queen boats were known for tremendous durability due to their thick steel hulls and the deep V design, which can easily cut through choppy water. The seller has spent a lot of time and expense over the past few years restoring this historic ship to its former glory. The seller commissioned his local marine mechanic to thoroughly inspect the original 318 V8 engines, and they have been running well. However, on 03/26/2024, it was discovered that one of the engines had some water in its oil. The seller thinks it might be a blown head gasket, but more inspection would be necessary to verify. All wiring was replaced in many places on the boat, and it even has a fully functioning helm up on the fly bridge to complement the main helm in the lower salon/cockpit. You will find updated upholstery and the cabin in terrific condition, and the seller maintained the classic original look inside. The bilge area of the boat is easily accessible to service the engines. There is the spot where they took out the original generator, and it is ready for a new one to be installed in its place. However, he has been using a portable on the aft deck and says it has served him well. Up front, there is a sturdy bow with a nice overhang to relax in the shade. The gangway access all the way around the boat, along with all the side rails, is in good condition. There are four solar panels on top to provide constant charging for the batteries. A Lowrance GPS/Chartplotter will be included that was purchased recently and it is almost full on fuel. Speaking of fuel, the seller upgraded the fuel capacity, which now holds 180 gallons. The seller also states that the two engines run flawlessly and power the boat well. Looking for a versatile steel hull vessel with all the qualities of a houseboat and pleasure cruiser? This River Queen is a must-see! Reason for selling is age/health.
