The Tiara 2900 Coronet is a stylish and versatile sport cruiser whose roomy cockpit is among the largest to be found in a 29- foot boat. Introduced in 1997, shes constructed on a modified-V hull with a wide beam and sharp bow entry. While the Coronet was one of Tiaras smaller boats produced in recent years, she retained the superb finish and engineering excellence found in all Tiara models. By design, the Coronets emphasis is on open-air enjoy- ment, and her large cockpit can seat a small crowd in comfort. The engines are under the seat boxes, and the forward section of the deck lifts electrically for access to the motors. Aside from the gen- erous seating arrangements, the cockpit is equipped with a wet bar aft of the helm seat as well as coaming bolsters and a centerline transom door. The high windshield is notable, not just for its sturdy construction but for the clever reverse-angled spray guard along the top. Belowdecks, the compact interior provides berths for two with an enclosed head, mini-galley, and teak-and-holly cabin sole. The Coronet will cruise at 2122 knots with a pair of 320hp gas inboards and reach a top speed of about 31 knots.

The Tiara 3100 Open is one of those exceptional boats whose enduring popularity make her a classic design in every sense of the word. (Indeed, she remained pretty much unchanged from her 1979 introduction until replaced in the Tiara fleet with a new 3100 Open model in 1992.) Aside from her quality construction and sporty profile, the appeal of the 3100 has much to do with her large fishing cockpit and comfortable, teak-trimmed interior. Lots of builders talk about versatility in a particular model, but few boats can really walk the walk. The 3100 does: install some outrig- gers, fish box and a baitwell, and shes a serious tournament-level fishing machine. For those into cruising than fishing, a radar arch, swim platform and extra cockpit seating will turn the 3100 into an extremely capable family express with the ability to handle most open-water conditions (although she can sometimes be a wet ride in a chop). Notable features include wide side decks, bow pulpit, good engine access, and excellent nonskid. Standard 350hp gas inboards cruise in the low 20s and reach a top speed of 3233 knots. Note that Tiara continued to produce this boat well into the 1990s as the Pursuit 3100 Express Fisherman.

Traditional in concept, she’s a beautifully crafted express cruiser whose classic styling has held up well over the years. Built on a modified-V hull with a wide 13'3" beam, prop pockets reduce draft and shaft angles.
