1986 Shamrock 260 Hardtop Founded in 1971, Shamrock developed its reputation for designing and building no-nonsense fishing boats widely recognized for their solid (near bullet-proof) construction and excellent sea-keeping ability. The agility of the Shamrock is attributed largely to its full-keel, or “Keel Drive” inboard design. She rides on a deep-V, solid fiberglass hull that’ll cut through any chop she’s faced with. Shamrock calls their full-length integrated keel design, Keel Drive. It is laid up as part of the hull, not bolted or glassed on afterward. After the hull is laid up, the keel section is filled with a catalyzed mixture of high impact polyester resin, glass fiber and silica sand which is poured in place and allowed to harden. The result is a solid core many times stronger than concrete, impervious to moisture and rot. The keel acts like a two-inch thick I-beam running the entire length of the boat. The keel-drive design provides superior underwater protection, improved stability, a longer-lasting engine, fuel economy and commercial-grade durability. This innovative keel design alone makes the Shamrock versatile and a superior choice for fishing the shallows of the upper Chesapeake Bay, while making her an excellent choice for navigating the choppy waters of the lower bay. With her classic Eastern Shore flare, she's perfect for an afternoon of fishing or crabbing...whether with friends or for charter...and she's readily available for sale just in time for the upcoming fishing season!
