2016 TAHITI OFFSHORE 23 WAKE RIDE
The orange and gray colors just pop off the boat as it charges through the water, a real eye-catcher. We tested the TAHITI 23 WAKE RIDE in Orlando, Florida, but it certainly carried that Southern California style: no windshield for the top-down, wind-in-your-hair feel; pimped-out gelcoat and stereo system; lots of cockpit room for small, impromptu parties; and attitude to boot.
The electronic rear hatch raised up to show lots of space in the storage compartment. The wraparound seating is covered with two-tone gray upholstery with the embroidered Orion logo. Rear seats also have headrests for added comfort. And speaking of seats, the Tidal Wake has them in unusual places – two facing seats hidden under the control console and glove box in the wide walk-through transom. It’s all about individual style with TAHITI.
SkiingThis boat is more for stylish wakeboarding days on the water, but open-water recreational ski sets aren’t banished. While the ladies are reclining and soaking up the rays, gents can strap on their stick and slice up some water. Or vice versa.
WakeboardingThe TAHITI 23 WAKE RIDE needs a lot of ballast for respectable wake size. With no factory ballast, our testers used three fat sacks, which produced intermediate-sized wakes with smooth peaks. The landing zone was pretty good. There’s also a wide table on the double-ups. For the most fun, though, pull your line in a little to handle the wider wake.
