Last oil change was in 2018. A full strip of the old bottom, followed by the application of 8 coats of epoxy and then anti-fouling bottom paint appears this Wanderer is good for 10+ years! This Wanderer could use some cleaning and detailing TLC to restore her to her original glory. She's sailworthy as evidenced by the pictures taken during a recent early evening sail on July 11, 2019. Give this GOOD OL' BOAT some simple attention and this Wanderer will be the toast of the harbor! Stock #183974 The original 1967 engine is an Atomic 4, 30hp gasoline, 4 cylinder, manufactured by Universal engines was rebuilt about 20 years ago A Fantastic design coupled with bullet-proof construction makes this 30-foot Pearson Wanderer a classic sailboat in the truest sense of the word. This 1967 Pearson Wanderer was personally selected and maintained by Olympic sailing gold medalist Peter Barrett, and has been lovingly kept and sailed by his son for the past two decades. This Pearson is a handcrafted, built boat from years gone buy when they were built to a different standard. She is, seaworthy enough to carry you around the world if you so desire and comfortable enough to easily cruise a young family or a couple around the bay and/or up and down the coast. The Pearson Wanderer is a more seaworthy and sea-kindly vessel than those emerging from factories today. The connected two-mast rigging system provides additional structural stability. When down, the centerboard allows excellent upwind performance. With the board up, shallow waters can be explored, or the boat can be anchored closer to shore than many otherwise similar vessels. The Wanderer model has a rare combination of big-boat heft and small-boat response, and it should be well-mannered offshore in big waves as well as in choppy bays. Maybe that's why so many voyagers choose it. The ample side decks are convenient and safe. One can move forward with security, and grabrails on the cabin top provide good handholds. Offshore, a good deck is a matter of staying on board the boat or not. The cockpit is spacious for two and can accommodate four if desired. The tiller does take up space while sailing but can be folded back out of the way come cocktail time. Sail inventory includes a cruising mainsail, roller furling genoa, spinnaker and mizzen sail. The rigging of this Pearson is solid and in full functioning condition. Reason for selling is not using enough.
