Runaway is an Alan Andrews designed, Dencho Marine built, Custom 70 Turbo racing sloop. She has always been professionally maintained. The tall Omohundro carbon fiber rig with five spreaders was new in 2000. The hull was upgraded and modernized with extensive alterations to the bow and stern sections in 2000-2001. There is a 12 foot ocean deep keel and a 9 foot 6 inch shoal draft keel for round the buoys or cruising that is installed at this time. The rudder was reprofiled and the “Jefe” bearings and seals were replaced. The bottom was repaired at Seabrook Marine and was sealed with Interlux Interprotect and covered with white #EP2000 hard racing paint in 2008. The deck was professionally Awlgripped in 2008 and she was replumbed and rewired. The mast and boom were painted in 2008. The two spinnaker poles, 38’ and 28’, were also painted. There is a long list of maintenance items that were accomplished recently.The engine is a Yanmar 4JH2-HTE, 4 cylinder turbo diesel, rated at 75 hp with saildrive #SD504T, that was new in 2007 with 120 hours on the meter. There is a new Martec propeller. She has been raced under both ORR (1.257-AP/1.278-OW) and IRC (1.419) rules. Copies of the certificates are available. Runaway has been in heated storage for over three years and is awaiting your commands at the helm!

"Flak" was built at the Wiggers Yard in Whitby, Ontario, Canada as a high performance MORC yacht for day racing and crew berths for overnighting. It is well known in local racing circles for excellent performance in all conditions. " Flak" also comes with a double axle travel trailer and is in the water now with VC-fresh water paint ready to go!
