2002 HELLS BAY BOAT WORKS INC Whipray This Whipray is probably the best flats skiff out there, easy to pole and gets into hotspots before the fish can. It is lighter than current models and floats shallower. This is a one owner boat. The engine was updated in 2008 to a Yamaha 50hp two-stroke (it has only 370 hours on it) and a Bob's Machine Shop jackplate was added, the Ramlin trailer had a new axle put on in 2015. It has a 55lb MinnKota trolling motor with AGM battery, a Lowrance Elite 5 GPS/fishfinder and a new (2017) Icom M-24 vhf radio. I have added a padded, folding seatback to the front of the poling platform (no more backaches after a long day of fishing!), a removable back brace and a casting platform, all by Sanchez Brothers. A new seat cushion was made for the boat last year and a new steering cable was installed. It comes with a 23' Stiffy Hybrid pushpole and a custom canvas cover. The boat has always been garaged or covered and engine and trailer have always been professionally maintained. I'm selling the boat only because my wife is after me to get a boat that will carry more people and would be more comfortable for snorkeling, otherwise, there is no way I would be selling it. Powerpole and trolling motor work perfectly and is powered by a 70 Yamaha four stroke that is a May 2016. Goes with two guys comfortably 37-38 mph. Seadek on rear poling platform as well as custom casting platform. Awl grip inside all hatches and the deck was sprayed this year also and was professionally done. Brand new Gemlux stainless hatch pulls. 2014 min kota trolling motor I pilot that works perfectly. Custom wiring and flush wiring connection inside front hatch. Also custom awl grip battery tray inside front hatch for Odyssey 1200 Custom lean bars for poling platform and casting platform. Massive amounts of storage-four hatches and coffin box all with carpet to fit. Also gas tank has carpet on it to reduce interior hull noise. 1 and 1/2 inch toe rail with custom line tack to hold fly line in the boat. Contact Carbon marine for details on line tack which helped win gold cup tarpon tourney in Keys this year. Boat floats super skinny but is stable and takes a chop really well. Trailer is a aluminum ramlin with a custom walkboard and step down. Aluminum rims are in great shape and the trailer had a new axle put on this year (retail 6000). 1996 East Bay Boat Works Custom, One of a kind 1996 Custom Built 40 Mahogany Planked Cold Molded BoatBuilt in 1996. Ricky Gillikin at Eastbay Boats Works in S.C. completed the original and signed off on the paper work. It came to Tarpon Springs FL. In 1999 and was restored by Scottys Marine. I purchased the boat in 2003 and saw it through to completion. Scotty at Scottys Marine came with very high recommendations from boating experts.The boat was completely rebuilt throughout. In 2000, I installed the last pair of 1999 671s Detroit 485hp turbo engines. From there, the boat was completely rewired and all new systems were installed (generator, air-condition, toilet, holding tank, all mechanical). Boat was painted and a new custom tower and teak wood were installed. All work was completed in July 2006.The boat has been at The Pelican Yacht Club for the last 8 years, and has been professionally maintained.In 2014, new turbos along with fuel injectors were installed. It also went through a complete inspection and both heat exchangers were cleaned.Boat has a Furuno Electronics 12kw radar, autopilot, Satellite TV, and engine room camera.Boat has roughly 450hrs and generator around 500hrs, and hour meters are original.In June 2016, the boat was restored and updated with new paint inside and out. The bottom was stripped and resealed along with new custom bottom paint. The work was completed by John Dunkin, at Crackerboy. New batteries and charger were installed and the oil and transmission coolers were replaced.The boat is in excellent condition and the ride is incredible.I am asking $309,000 and feel it is priced aggressively for a quick sale. I am selling the boat due to my kids have grown up and live too far away to enjoy it with me.
