The boat has been well taken care of and stored inside. The original engine starts and runs well. Updated battery installed this year. There is a Large storage well in the deck in front of the transom. Extra outdrive is included in the sale. Stock #278857 1965 Bertram Moppie 20 in Nice Shape ! The Bertram Moppie 20 is one of the best-looking boats of the 60s. Arguably known as the best riding 20-footer of its time and possibly ever, it has a 26 degree transom to make the ride bounce-free and the same ride as a much larger boat. Built one at a time by Bertram, the quality shows in a smooth ride and rattle-free construction. This boat has been in the family for 3 generations and has been taken care of. The current owner installed a new 47 gallon gas tank in the bow, replacing the dual tanks initially located in the transom. This is a piece of boating history that commands attention and fuels conversation. Not to mention a great way to get around on the water from your favorite dockside spots or for a leisurely day of fishing and crabbing. Reason for selling is not using.

1966 Bertram Moppie, I have for sale a 1966 Bertram Moppie. The vessel is powered by twin 225hp Mercury Black Max 2-stroke outboards. These motors get this large 25' boat on plane with ease while also maintaining a quick and comfortable cruising speed of 30mph. The hull has a beam of 10' at midship creating a very dry ride. The fwd cabin is spacious and comes with fitted cushions creating a v-berth sleeping arrangement that can fit two 6' adults comfortably. 1997 Bertram 36 Moppie This boat has been owned by the same owner for the past 15 years, She runs great, shows decently, and priced to be the next 36' Moppie sold.\ The Bertram 36 Moppie made its debut in 1996 and had a five-year production run, with slight interior modifications. The all-fiberglass modified-vee hull has an angled bow and sharp entry that widens to a plentiful 13-foot beam carried well aft to the cockpit. Standard on the sportfish version are a molded bait-prep station with sink and tackle center set under the hardtop and a transom door. Its a step up to the raised bridge deck, which opens hydraulically to access the twin Volvo diesels. The helm, to starboard, has a captains chair and destroyer wheel, and the bridge deck is protected by a wraparound windscreen. Instruments are housed in a black-background dashboard pod. This boat is outfitted with a tower (providing a hardtop for the lower helm station) with controls and electronics. The 36 Moppies 13-foot beam and raised bridge deck design translate into plenty of room below. The head compartment is to port, with a separate shower and sink. The modest galley (stove, microwave and refrigerator) is to starboard, and theres seating on both sides of the cabin. The offset queen-size berth forward can be closed off with a privacy curtain. Various wood-trimmed interiors were offered, "Quality Time" has the maple interior.

Dick Bertram, a champion sailboat and power boat captain, in the late 50s decided to build an ocean racer. He used a design incorporating deep" V" hull and longitudinal strakes. he called it "Moppie", his wife's nickname. This became known as one the best rough water boats ever built. What we have for this auction is a 25foot Bertram Moppie. It is 10feet wide. It is nearly 3 tons. The chines are flared outward to bite into a beam sea and level the boat. The transom is curved inward to minimize the effect of a following sea. And the deep "v" bow can cut heavy water like a sharp knife. This boat is in good condition for it's age. It has not been beat or mistreated. Hull is sound and deck is good. Starboard motor had a leaky head, which is being replaced. Port motor runs. Also fuel tank is rusty and is also being replaced. It has a new bimine top, the frame is damaged. Outdrives are good, props are new. Cabin cushions are good. Controls are free, so is steering. It is a "Bertram" whatever is invested is this boat will never be lost in resale valve Trailer is solid, made of tubular steel. Rubber is good. Trailer pulls very well. We have a pair of Mercruiser 3.0L motors that we can professionally install for $3,200. They would give the Bertram more power with fresher motors.
