BOAT OWNER'S NOTES: The boat was built in 1966 (rebuilt 2003-2011) in South Louisiana, it is a custom built 600 HP Model Bow Tug with a length of 47', width of 17', draft of 5.5 to 6', 43 Gross Tons, 29 Net Tons, last Survey valued it at $425,000 (2011), Call Owner Anna B Hebert @ 985-709-6154.
OVERVIEW & FEATURES: The tug originally had only one engine, the previous owner bought it in 2003 and over a period of time installed the rebuilt twin 8-71 Detroit Diesel Main Engines, with MG 514 Twin Disk Clutches with a ratio of 4.5 to 1, twin 20kw/2-71 Generators (one air start one electric start), air compressor, hydraulic system, two forward deck mounted manual winches, aft wheel house engine clutch Morse Controls, he replated the stern bottom and two feet along each side of the keel all the way to the bow, replaced all the bullworks and stern rack, installed dual rudders and stainless steel props, and had the pilot house and bunk room stripped replacing the walls, ceilings, and four bunks with new materials.
EQUIPMENT: I bought the unfinished boat in 2011 and installed all the following: All new armored covered electrical wiring throughout, electrical panels, switches, lights, engine room heat activated fire alarm systems, bilge alarm, 3 hp bilge pumps, all recepticals, 220 welding machine receptical, 30 gal electric water heater, potable water pump w 6 gallon tank (2014), 7hp water pump with fire hose and potable water delivery capability to customer and equipment, installed a flow crossover between the two diesel tanks in engine room allowing for balance and a pump delivery system with a 75' approved hose to deliver diesel to customer and equipment, shaft sizes are 4" and 4.5" were rebuilt in (2013), installed a 5 man "ManaGerm MSD, 7 fire extinguishers including a 50# deck model, two ring buoys w/floats, life jackets, 8d battery (July 2014), two 12 volt batteries for fire alarm system (Aug 2014), three new bunk mattresses (2014), one airconditioner in pilot house and one in bunk room, installed Furuno1934cntNavNet open array Radar, Lowrance 5200c, two VHF MC620 Radios, 6" Magnetic Compass, two 14' Search Lights,
GALLEY & HEAD: The full galley has a refrigerator, electric 4 burner stove and oven, microwave, air conditioner/heat combo, stainless steel sink, table with storage bench seating, storage room, I replaced the all wood galley floor and cut out and replaced1/4" steel deck under it (2011), full head with large shower, I built two storm doors and hall door.
FINAL NOTES: The boat has a top speed of 10 knots (1800 rpms steady), 8 knots pushing a loaded barge and is rated to push two barges, the twin engines have low running hours, the bottom is in good condition and was cleaned and epoxy painted yearly since 2011 and was last cleaned and epoxy painted (June 2015), the tires and chains are in good condition, the engine room and forward hold are cleaned and painted, the pilot house has an approx site height of 18', Fuel Tank capacity is approx 4,500 gallons, potable water tank holds approx 3,000 gallons, was Coast Guard Certified (2011) and passed a SIRE inspection (Jan 2015), the boat is a powerfull good working shallow draft boat that got the job done, it has been well maintained and is in good condition and ready for work, I put a lot of work and heart into this boat and am selling due to the lack of work in this poor economy.
