Per the seller, the hull is old-growth Douglas Fir with steam-bent oak ribs and sealed over with fiberglass. She is super watertight other than the normal slow accumulation from the prop. Block and tackle are handmade of bronze shivs and locust wood... a few are Douglas Fir. Hand-shaped mast and hardware... Custom bulwarks and bowsprit.. The masts measure up to 40' and the sails are canvas. The rigging was replaced in 2021. Stock #276005 Very Unique ONE-of-a-kind, hand-built replica of the "Spray" famously first singlehanded circumnavigation of the globe by Joshua Slocum in 1895-1898. Located in Morro Bay, California - This Nautical classic is truly one of a kind. Built as a Replica of the world-famous vessel the " Spray" - which was famously, the first single-handled, circumnavigation of the globe by Joshua Slocum in 1895-1898. All components are new including, top of the line tires, new brake lines, bearings and drums.Engine Specs: Ron Sporl built, Dual 502's, Naturally Aspirated, Chevy Engines, Bored out to 548 cubic inch, 609.8 h.p. each at 5900 and torque 636 ft. lbs. at 4700. Outdrives: XR drives, bravo ones converted to XR drives. . .. Spent $10,000 for upgrade.The engines have Holley 1050 carburetors. The ignition is MSD, the motors have oil coolers. The motors where built by Ron Sporl Engine Building. The entire set up in the engine compartment is high performance, built to last and ready to go. The motors have approximately 280 hours on them. The outdrives have been upgraded to XR drives and will handle the H.P. The outdrives were upgraded in 2015 and have approx. 30 hours on them. The battery system is new and top of the line and is made by Trojan. Spent over $1,200 in new batteries.Rebuild of the Donzi: The boat went through a complete refit in 2015. In Morro Bay. Fully operational except tranny with 370 HP Yanmar engine with V-drive and external rudder. Nice Plotter, radar, comnav auto pilot, inverter, Epirb and Faria watchdog VMS. Full direct drive Hydraulic Pump and hydraulic hydro-slave hauler for pulling traps, hydraulic motor on Davit for lifting, Hydraulic anchor wench. Gear driven water pump for deck hose and live well. 4'x4'x3 12' Fish hold holds 1800 lbs dead or 1500 lbs live fish. Tow bit. New prop and cruises 14-17 knots with faster speeds when surfing. Small trim tabs and will plane out better with larger trim tabs. Decks stripped and reglassed from bow to last 14 of deck. New windows and gelcoat on cabin. Fully functional although needs to be hauled and bottom painted. Needs hull painted with gelcoat. This is a great boat and if interested I can tell you more about the boat. It has history of years working San Miguel Island and plowing the Santa Barbara Channel and from San Diego to Cape Mendocino. Now working Central Coast out of Morro Bay.
