1988 Catalina 34
The Catalina 34 has long been one of the most successful boats in the Catalina line. It is an excellent sailing vessel with comfort and room for the entire family, yet simple enough to single hand.
With the fin keel, she is a classic 34' beauty in very nice shape and lovingly cared for. Her spacious salon has a horseshoe-shaped dinette to starboard, and a nav station and settee to port. The owner's stateroom is aft of the head to starboard and offers good light and easy access. The engine is beneath the companionway ladder and the fuel tank is aft. Warm teak compliments the interior. She's all about performance under sail, with a nice steady feel at the helm and those Catalina features you can depend on.
Bates Botel has a custom cockpit grate that has a high gloss finish. And the cabin sole is in the same condition. What a plus! There may not be another Catalina out there like this one. The bottom of this fine vessel was epoxy barrier coated in 2004. She has VC17 over the top. The topsides of the hull are glossy. Some of the bright work on deck may need some attention. In 2004, the engine heat exchanger was rebuilt and dripless drive shaft packing was installed. A new cutlass bearing and drive shaft were also installed. The steering cables have been replaced. The mast and boom have been painted white with Awl-Grip. The mast was rewired, with new anchor, deck and steaming lights. New Lewmar two speed self tailing winches were installed. The Catalina Smile was repaired in 2013, as well as a check for water intrusion. Come check in to the Bates Botel today!
