In general, this 1983 Moody 41 appears to be in very good condition. According to the seller, all mechanical and operational systems function as intended. As mentioned in the description, there are ongoing maintenance issues that need addressed, as is typical of all boats. However, this vessel is certainly in "better than expected condition" for its age. Stock #376735 This vessel was SOLD on April 22. This 1983 Moody 41 was purchased by the current owner after she was partially submerged in Hurricane Irma. She was moved to a boatyard in north Florida where she was rebuilt over the next five years. Nearly every single screw, bolt, and wire was replaced. The boat was relaunched in May 2022, she sailed to the Chesapeake, then down the coast and through the Bahamas last season and back to north Florida where she has been docked since June this year. This Moody 41 is a spacious vessel inside and out. The center cockpit, custom lowering swim platform, and custom rail seats on the transom make the deck feel much larger than most vessels her size. The interior has a forward V-berth, a crew cabin with bunk beds, and a master cabin aft. The salon has a custom table that allows for a variety of seating and dining options. On the deck, you'll find updated custom 30" tall stainless-steel railings around the perimeter, all the hatches have been powder coated and have new acrylic, new hardware, and covers. The rebuilt Seldon Furling Mast has a recent Main Sail, the rebuilt ProFurl has a recent Quantum Head Sail. The standing rigging and turnbuckles, and running rigging have been replaced. There's also a recent Harken Mainsheet Traveler, and all the Lewmar winches have been replaced, or rebuilt and rechromed. Below you'll find recent Quiet Flush Heads, with Bidets in the two Heads, a recent Force 10 oven in the Galley, recent custom poly freshwater tanks, a recent Dometic 16k cooling/heating unit, and updated upholstery and foam throughout. The electronics are all newer Raymarine, an Axiom chart plotter, an autopilot with smart remote, wind and 3d depth instruments, and all powered by a recent Xantrax Charger Invertor, a recent custom 560ah LifePo battery bank, and a recent Balmar 100a Alternator. While she is ready to hit the open seas, she does have some cosmetic needs that still need to be addressed. For example, on deck you'll find the stainless-steel handrails need polished and the welds all need to be cleaned up. Inside there are bundles of teak trim that were cut but never installed, and several headliners still need to be addressed here and there. And while most everything has been replaced with new during the rebuild many elements are already starting to show wear, as boats do. Items that warrant attention include the strataglass in the updated Dodger, the waterproof carpet throughout has some faded areas from sunlight, and the vinyl wrap on the hull has some damage from rubbing on the dock. The seller has provided a detailed list of parts and systems that have been replaced. This Moody 41 is a truly unique vessel. Chances are you won't find another like her. Start living your sailing adventure dream today!
