General Description Built at the Ta Shing Yacht Building Company in Taiwan in 1978, the HC 43 is known for the high degree of wood craftsmanship evident throughout the interior and exterior, fit and finish. This is a true offshore capable yacht. The Hans Christian features quality construction with ease of handling, living comfort and general performance in a top-quality cruising sailboat. The hull offers raw speed potential due to long waterlines, a high range of positive stability, and sufficient bow overhang to deflect boarding seas. She features an aft helm that allows for better visibility, and produces a much more sea-kindly motion with less pitching. A canvas dodger is standard and a fixed dodger / deckhouse is optional. The deck has been designed for single-handed sailing. Primary winches are less than a step away from the helmsman. Below decks, the interior features a traditional two-stateroom layout with one head with a shower. 1999 Hans Christian CHRISTINA 43 The Hans Christian "Christina 43" The project was started in 1984. A total of 34 boats of this model were built. The designer, Scott Sprague designed this series of yachts to produce superior cruising speed and a stiff sailing yacht, due to the faster turn of the hull which presents a hard shoulder to leeward, with good weatherly performance for the medium displacement yacht. The long cord fin and the 1/2 skeg rudder provide excellent tracking, along with great maneuverability and a light helm. This boat is the last "Christina 43" built in the Anderson Yachts Ltd. yard in Thailand. The yacht was built under constant supervision of the first owner and the watchful eye of the listing brokerage. The interior of these yachts are a testament to the legendary craftsmanship of the Hans Christian yachts and truly a masterpiece to be seen. The Christina 43 deck lay-out was designed with safety and manageability in mind. This produced a yacht that is the epitome of what a proper cruising yacht should be. Her sail plan is easily managed with a pair of roller furling head sails, self-tailing winches and a hard boom vang. Additional sails include a storm tri-sail and spinnaker with pole. 1979 Hans Christian 43 The Hans Christian 43 Cutter Rig is a well-known off shore cruising boat. With the double head rig it is an easy boat to sail in heavy weather. Deck layout, smaller cockpit and solid construction along with an interior that is easy to move about in also make the design very safe. Storage is always an important consideration on cruising boats, and this boat has a lot of easily accessible space. With two large double berths it is comfortable for two couples with plenty of privacy. It would also be a great liveaboard here in the Puget Sound. Some the maintenance items completed recently are as follows:- Exterior brightwork was sanded down to fresh wood and re-varnished.- The topsides were repainted as well as the cabin house, cockpit well, and inside the bulwarks.- Fuel tanks were cleaned and engine raw water pump replaced after the engine was inspected. -All zincs were replaced , throughhulls serviced and bottom painted.- New sail covers were purchased and all running rigging was replaced. - All chain plates were checked and resealed where needed.Please take a close look at this quality vessel.
