Featuring a standard configuration of two cabins and two heads, the 48 Salon Express is supplemented by a utility space forward of the engine room that can be laid out as additional crew quarters. The Sabre 48 Salon Express is our fifth pod driven model and takes full advantage of this technology in both her performance and in her interior accommodation plan.
The 48s traditional exterior profile belies the contemporary performances of her vee-hull. She cruises at 27 knots and, at wide open throttle shell attain more than 32 knots. With the Zeus pod drive system, turns at speed are as exciting as they are in a fine sports car, but perhaps even more exhilarating are the low sound levels at cruise speed: with less than 75 Dba, the Sabre 48 is one of the quietest motoryachts available today. The joystick and Skyhook operations give every Captain the confidence to dock her in the most difficult of circumstances.
Her raised cockpit sole brings together the social aspects of the cockpit and main salon, and the aft end of the house opens up fully to connect the spaces. Her main salon offers ample seating surfaces for entertaining or simply relaxing to read or enjoy the standard entertainment systems. While underway the raised settee to port of the Stidd helm chair is a perfect place for the crew to enjoy the ride. And when docking, a standard side deck door assists her helmsman and crew. The two cabin, two head layout is supplemented by a mechanical space forward of the engine room. As an option, this space can be laid out as a crew quarters with berth and head unit.

The Sabre 38 Salon Express represents the latest in design and naval architecture. Her exterior profile still says "downeast" and she is built in the tradition of Maine boat building, strong, steady, reliable, and very seaworthy. Yet, below her skin, technology is everywhere; from her resin infused laminates, to state of the art systems, to her pod propulsion drive, Her hull lines are the latest thinking in Vee-hulled motor yachts and are specifically designed for the installation of pods, allowing fuel economy, quiet running and a pleasant dry ride.
The pod drive train of the Sabre 38 offers excellent fuel economy, an important consideration in these days of uncertain diesel prices. Pods also lower noise by pushing out exhaust through the propeller stream and importantly allow confident boat handling when docking or maneuvering in tight spaces.
In her interior the Sabre 38 Salon Express provides an open design which will suit a day's outing with friends as easily as a longer cruise. Her cockpit is raised to a level just 5 inches below the main salon so as to connect these two important social spaces, and the aft end of the house opens with drop-down windows and a bi-fold door.
In her main salon, a large, U-shaped settee with fold over table will seat up to three couples, while the forward end of the settee can be oriented forward to provide a comfortable perch when underway. To starboard, aft of the STIDD helm seat, is a long cabinet housing an LED television on an electric lift storage and compartments for the owners gear.
The forward end of the salon opens to the galley below. Communication from the galley to the salon is fluid. A large owner's cabin forward has an island berth and ample storage for long range cruising as well as a private head with stall shower. Below the helm deck and to port, an L-settee converts to second sleeping quarters with privacy curtain.

Over the last fifteen years the Sabre range of Salon Express motor yachts has reshaped the boating market. Unlike typical express cruisers which tend only to go out on those all-too rare perfect days, owners of the Salon Express style can enjoy boating each and every day of the season tucked into the comfort and quiet of their yachts climate controlled interior.
For 2017, Sabre presents the 45 Salon Express. An all new design offering two staterooms with two full heads. But her most unique proposition is the utility space located between the engine room and the guest stateroom. This space is reserved for the installation of optional accessories like a gyro stabilizer, washer/drier, additional freezers or wine chillers. By creating this working space, all storage areas within the vessel have been retained for their designed purpose.

The master stateroom offers an island bed and several lockers and drawers for stowage. The master head features a separate stall shower and ceramic tile on the sole.

2006 Sabre Yachts Downeast Express
Elegant, traditional designs, luxurious accommodations and excellent performance are the hallmarks of the Sabre 38 Express. Quiet and economical to operate, the Sabre 38 will impress the most experienced yachtsman. The helm deck is a careful study in ergonomics. Surrounded by large opening windows and overhead hatches for maximum ventilation and light. Views for the helmsman and crew are virtually unobstructed. The Stidd helm and mate's chairs, covered in Ultraleather upholstery, provide a degree of comfort rarely found in other boats. To add to cruising comfort, Sabre's engineers have reduced noise and vibration levels substantially with a careful study of engine room ventilation and insulation. Wide side decks with large diameter stainless steel hand rails, standard rope chain windlass and highly polished aluminum hatches all add to the beauty and functionality of her deck. A large anchor roller makes anchoring work a breeze. An optional hard back enclosure closes off the helm deck from the cockpit with the addition of two elegant curved windows in the corners, a sliding window to port and an aluminum entry door. Below decks her hand-crafted cherry interior adds to the sense of luxury, evident throughout. The stateroom berth is low and wide, making it both comfortable and easy to access. A pocket door separates the salon and stateroom while the head with stall shower has private access from the stateroom and from the salon. The main salon is configured with a long L-shaped settee and, her maple-inlaid salon table drops to form a guest berth. A standard thin screen TV and DVD player are recessed in to the furniture of the main cabin bulkhead. Introduced in 2004, the Sabre 42 Express (called the Sabreline 42 until 2007) embodies the graceful styling, luxurious accommodations, and high-quality construction common to all Sabre yachts. The 42 is a particularly handsome yacht, and her low-profile cabin top conceals a considerable amount of living space below. Built on a modified-V hull with a wide beam and prop pockets, the focal point of the 42 Express is her semi-enclosed pilothouse with its swivel helm and companion seats, folding teak table, and full wet bar. Below decks, the traditional two-stateroom interior is highlightedwith varnished cherry wood cabinetry, leather upholstery, and a beautiful teak-and-holly sole. The master stateroom is fitted with a pedestal berth . The guest stateroom contains a double berth, and both cabins share a large head with a circular shower stall. A transom door, radar mast, and bow pulpit are standard. Note that the hull of the Sabre 42 is built with vacuum bagged PVC foam core making it light and extremely strong. Yanmar 500 hp inboard diesels cruise at 25 knots topping out at 29 knots. Helen E is equipped with virtually every option offered by Sabre. Hull repainted 2011. House batteries (2) replaced with 8 D AGM batteries in 2016. Engine batteries (group 31) replaced 2015. Bow and stern thrusters.
