NO WATER TRIAL. Being sold AS IS WHERE IS. PLEASE ALSO NOTE No batteries aboard. The seller makes no claims as to what works and what doesn't. According to the seller, the engine room had some rainwater intrusion and the engine may have suffered damage as now she will turn over but not run. She is in definite need of a mechanical evaluation to see if this can be repaired, rebuilt, or replaced. It's a Perkins diesel, so likely she is repairable. This engine came with the boat when the sellers purchased her and had been reliable all those years. There are no batteries aboard but would normally take 4 marine batteries. She needs some TLC to bring her back to her glory. Please know this is somewhat of a project boat, no water trials or engine survey (engine won't start), this is being sold as is where is. The place where you see the white tape is where there is some rotten wood that needs addressing. I visited this boat and walked the entire boat, there are no soft spots on the deck. I found it easy to see her beauty even though she needs some work, this was once a gorgeous boat and can be again. When the sellers rehabbed the boat, one of the things they did was to replace the old deck with marine plywood and epoxy the deck. It's very solid but could use a paint job. I noted some wood rot in a few places and photographed all I could see. The boxes under the chairs have some wood rot inside and need addressing. Stock #269396 This vessel was SOLD on April 2. We are offering this rare 1973 32' Downeast yacht with a well-deserved reputation and enthusiastic following. The cockpit engine box doubles as a working surface. And it is VERY heavy. Vessel is reported to be in good condition with systems operating properly and all maintenance up to date. Recent work includes injectors and injector pump in 2020, batteries in 2021 and regular maintenance. Stock #382194 This vessel was SOLD on May 30. Designed by Royal Lowell, molded by Harris, these Downeasters are built to order. Sitting at dock or mooring, the sleek lines and graceful curves attract and please the eye. Underway, Harris/Lowell boats slice through the waves "like butter", proving that these boats are especially meant for the elements. The hull expertly shapes the water passing by, not trying to fight the whole ocean. Downeaster boats are known for exceptional stability and smooth handling, fuel economy and 'un-pounding' speed. This 'Cuttyhunk' (a Northeast term) features a Cummins Diesel (4000 hours); which is all original and comes with a maintenance log. This combination offers an extremely comfortable and fuel efficient setup. Featuring a comfortable open cockpit and a 3 sided house with rear enclosure, you will be comfortable in any condition. With plenty of room for fishing she will excel in a wide variety of uses. There is a small but comfortable cabin below. With an enclosed head with porta potti, a double berth forward and a small galley with sink the boat will allow nice getaways for local cruising. Lowell says "the best way to understand our designs is to come take a ride & experience our boats for yourself." There's a reason why Lowell is called "Home of the lobster boat."
