Yet, below her skin, technology is everywhere; from her resin infused laminates, to state of the art systems, to her pod propulsion drive, Her hull lines are the latest thinking in Vee-hulled motor yachts and are specifically designed for the installation of pods, allowing fuel economy, quiet running and a pleasant dry ride. The pod drive train of the Sabre 38 offers excellent fuel economy, an important consideration in these days of uncertain diesel prices. Pods also lower noise by pushing out exhaust through the propeller stream and importantly allow confident boat handling when docking or maneuvering in tight spaces. In her interior the Sabre 38 Salon Express provides an open design which will suit a day's outing with friends as easily as a longer cruise. Her cockpit is raised to a level just 5 inches below the main salon so as to connect these two important social spaces, and the aft end of the house opens with drop-down windows and a bi-fold door. In her main salon, a large, U-shaped settee with fold over table will seat up to three couples, while the forward end of the settee can be oriented forward to provide a comfortable perch when underway. To starboard, aft of the STIDD helm seat, is a long cabinet housing an LED television on an electric lift storage and compartments for the owners gear. The forward end of the salon opens to the galley below. Communication from the galley to the salon is fluid. 1995 Albin TE28 Convertible, This 1995 Albin TE28 / Convertible has been as close to our perfect boat we could find. This boat has been a joy to own. Mechanically the boat is in very good condition and has always been maintained by qualified mechanics. Cosmetically it could use a good cleaning as I have not had much time this season. This convertible model is one of 15 or so produced from 1993 to 2005. The convertible is considered a rare find given that around 1000 total 28s were built. The convertible has a large radically-raked, welded aluminium American Marine tempered safety-glass windshield and a TIG-welded aluminium radar arch. (Compliments of J & J Fabrications) Visibility is virtually unobstructed. This is a well built, well planned, stylish vessel. She is well equipped and has lots of room for weekends with the family. She has a bimini and full canvas enclosure for boating in inclement weather. We generally boat from March until November and have spent many hours cruising the Chesapeake, in all kinds of weather, and have never felt unsafe. We have spent many nights on the hook and in marinas. The Albin is a comfortable weekender, a great fishing platform, and perfect cruiser. We do have a cockpit bimini that we have never used. Canvas is sand color. All other canvas is black. The black hullsides were wet sanded a few years ago and are still holding up well.
