Overall, the condition seems very good for the year of the boat. The owners indicate that all systems are operating properly. She looks to be in good condition. Sails and rigging are in fair shape and are ready to be used. There is no hour meter for the motor. Stock #274278 Excellent 1978 Cal 27, Regularly Maintained! Powered by a 10HP Ferryman Engine! Lots of Extras Included! Very nice CAL 27. This sailboat is perfect for the Bay area, she is light, stable and can take a good breeze. If you are looking for a basic easy sailing boat, she is the one!! With a nice ample wide beam of 9 feet, what first impresses is the space in the cockpit and the space down below. It feels open and airy due to the side windows and the updated portholes through out. Comfortable seating on both sides of the cabin, and nice storage from stem to stern. As you walk below, the aft cabin is a chart table work area, with a very large icebox. All electrical primarily 12V switches are on the aft bulkhead. Moving forward in the cabin you reach the midship bulkhead and just ahead you have a porta-potty and cold water sink and a good size V-berth. This CAL 27 points well and sails like a dream, the owner confirms. Reason for selling is leaving the area.

The boat does need some good deep cleaning to occur. The owner has had recent work on the sailboat to bring the condition up to the market. Currently waiting for the documentation of all upgrades to add to the listing. Stock #247131 Bill Lapworth designed classic cruiser. This boat has made multiple Annapolis to Bermuda single hand race appearances. The Cal 39 has been known to be a world cruising sailboat. With a seagoing cockpit ready for your adventures. The layout is great for cruising or racing. The hull shape makes for a great all parts of sailing. In the cabin, you have plenty of space for enjoyment on the water. You get water and shore power hookups. Need some power out on the water, you can with the solar panels above the helm that are near the stern. 1987 Cal Yachts Sloop, Amici sleeps 4 adults in forward berth and on the two side settees. Marine type II head located under the forward berth. There is 5 gal fresh cold water tank with hand pump at small galley sink with room for small portable gallery stove next to sink. All running lights with AGM battery.I have used her for the past 10 years to teach beginning ASA 101 Basic Keelboat classes. I am in the process of replacing her with a new Beneteau First 22. She has been maintained in good condition. She will need some work on her teak and a good wax job. Ratherwise, she is ready to sail away. She is an excellent, fun, day sailer. Solid and pretty 1976 Cal 2-29 with great running and easy starting diesel inboard. Boat is solid, with needs for repairs that a handyman type would love to do (mainsail halyard needs replaced, should be pulled this winter to clean bottom and give her a new coat of paint, the port in the head needs replacing, some interior woodwork needs replacing, cushions could be recovered.) We were very excited about cleaning her up and sailing but we have recently moved and can no longer own a sailboat. This is a great opportunity to get a boat that, with a little bit of effort, would be a gorgeous day tripper, weekender, or could be easily be made ready for extended trips. Boat is very dry, does not have that wet smell that you so often find with boats of this age. Engine starts easily and runs strong. The boat is very dry. Includes Mainsail, Jib, Genoa, and storm job. New interior ceiling, cushions, teak, gel-gloss, tile. LED lighting, table. ($2k not including labor) Fixed running lights. Fixed windows. Sails cleaned and in good condition with new batons. Engine was upgraded to 12hp yanmar about 12 years ago. ( no rust ) Working VHF and FM radios, Depth sounder. Self tailing winches. Clear hatches. NO RESERVE Head came with port a poty. It has the storage tank but I didn't get around to that detail. Fresh water system in place but I also didn't get around to dealing with that. My break even is around $12k on the boat. Edson Pedestal steering. Ritchie Compass. 2 Doracles. 5 winches. Bimini and Dodger with connectors. Imtra windlass and 2 anchors.
