The overall condition as reported by a survey in 2023 is very good with some minor attention to the usual maintenance required by a boat of this age. There is no readable engine identification that would provide the year, however the survey indicated it is a GM 6-71 and the hour meter indicates 33 hours, but there is no mention of accuracy of the meter. Stock #427752 1951 Classic ED Monk 45 Motor Yach in very good condition and ready for cruising the Bay or motoring up to the Delta. This Classic Ed Monk is ready for its new owner and is an Eye Catcher either in the slip or on a cruise. Ed Monk Sr. was a boat designer from the 1920's through the 1960's. He has been recognized as a true ledged of marine design utilized by the US military during WW II designing patrol boats, tugs, and towboats. Yet the Monk legend is connected more with classic power cruisers than with any other style of boat. This 1951 cruiser is a perfect example of his designs that provide luxury liveaboard features and sleek performance on the water. Inside, you will find three main cabins that are large and well equipped. The main salon and helm area provide room for the Captain and an L-Shaped settee that will accommodate four passengers. The wheel is a classic round wood with handles that exemplify quality craftmanship. When you first board and enter the main cabin, your eyes are drawn to the magnificent wood throughout. The floors are inlayed Parkey, and the paneling is real wood slats polished to a perfect shine. A wood burning stove stands in the corner and soon becomes the center of attention. The Head is located mid-ship and has one of the largest showers of any boat this size. The forward stateroom is large with a large desk, a V-Berth, and a small head. The wood theme is carried throughout the stateroom with matching desk, flooring, and cabinets. The aft cabin is circular in design with a large table and booth style seating that extends through a half circle of the entire aft compartment. The table can be lowered, and a matching cushion placed on top to make a very large bed. This classic Ed Monk is the perfect get-away to the Pelican Harbor in Sausalito, with the ability to take it on a Bay Cruise or a trip up to the Delta. This listing is new to market.
