The boat is ready to sail. The seller recently replace 5 batteries. The two GPS unit and auto-helm system are working properly. The floor is solid all around this boat. The winches appear to be in good condition. The bimini is in good condition too. The AC is working, as well as the water maker. The boat is cluttered with personal items, but it is clean at the same time. A must-see, unique opportunity. Stock #306233 Big Cruiser, Maintained, fully loaded, a classic sailboat! Classic World sailer, This Pearson 40 is all the boat you need for any voyage. This particular boat comes with a centerboard keel which allows you to get into any shallow spot you want. Only 4' 3" is needed to move this boat. Another feature of this boat is the solid rigging, for more reliability and easy service. Also, this boat comes with an extra pole for an extra sail if you want. Currently this Pearson has solar panels and a 1,000w inverter to power the cabin while on the way. Also, there is a digital autohelm unit as well as windvane for keeping your heading while on a long trip. At the cockpit, a full bimini and dodger provide lots of protection from the elements. All of the electronics are in the line of sight and you could operate all your lines from back here, as well as the centerboard. The cabin is one of the most comfortable layouts you'll ever meet. A couple of steps down on the starboard side, you have your galley with a double sink, stove, microwave, oven, and refrigerator with ice box. Across, on the port side, you have your nav station and a single berth. A big bench and desk to work comfortably from here. All of your breakers are in this area too. The boat also has a watermaker. Midship, you have a big dinette area. It comes with a fold-down table, and 2 large benches on each side with lots of storage all around. Next, your enclosed head with shower. Plenty of room to operate here. The head is manual, so it is easy to maintain, and won't use up your freshwater tank. Plenty of storage in this head. At the bow, your main bedroom, a V-berth with lots of storage all around. There is also plenty of closet space in this bedroom. The big hatch provides lots of natural light here. Overall a great boat for a long trip, or live-aboard. Reason for selling is looking to go bigger.

1981 Pearson P-40 "Moonraker" is an exceptionally well maintained and continually upgraded vessel. She offers a very warm and comfortable cruising interior but was built to perform well on competitively. She is very well equipped with newer instruments and an easy to handle sail rig. Mechanically, electronically and condition wise, Moonraker is much younger than her age. The owner of Moonraker has spent years in the marine business and as a sailor and this is obvious in the condition of the boat.

1979 Pearson 40 When the P40 was introduced in 1977 it was loaded with features that broke the Pearson mold. The hull was balsa cored for strength and insulation, with a unique whale-shaped underbody and a deep centerboard. The hull shape was similar to Ted Hood’s centerboarders of the time. This boat only draws 4' 3" with the board up. The deck, however, is the P40’s most recognizable feature. It is a racy and sexy flush deck with built in anchor locker and very large deck hatches - great for working on deck or just laying out to catch some rays. Not only is the construction top rate, the interior finish is also much better than most Pearsons, with beautiful mahogany bulkheads and oak trim. The P40 is one of those boats that has fallen through the cracks of the used boat market, and that can work to the advantage of the used boat buyer, especially if they are in the market for a lively cruising boat. This Pearson 40 Flush Deck has a newer Yanmar diesel engine and ZF gears and has many recent improvements over several years, including the Leisure Furl Boom and Mainsail. The following were new in the last four years: Lifelines, standing rigging, Koto davits, hydraulic backstay adjuster, stern rail with gate, refrigerator, stove/oven, upholstrey, Harken electric winch, roll up inflatable dingy, 250 ft chain rode, hot water heater, whisker pole, anchor windlass, dodger, bimini and connector.  The bottom was epoxy barrier coated in 2000. Take a closer look at this Pearson 40'. Come and sail Cool Hand away today! She is presently in inside cold storage.

1979 Pearson 40 BROKER COMMENTS: A classic yacht designed by Bill Shaw of Pearson Yachts back in 1979. A cruising boat that can also win some club races was the intent of this design. "Kazoo" has only had two owners and is currently on a mooring ready to set sail in Youngstown, NY. A great family cruiser with sleeping for seven, including air conditioning and a flat screen TV. At 40 feet, this is a lot of boat for only $39,900.
