"Petrel" is a Phillip Rhodes design, built for blue water cruising with a full lead keel, encapsulated inside a 2 thick solid hull. It has only been used in fresh water and continuously upgraded to yacht standards. The extensive list of upgrades is impressive! The exterior is a gorgeous blue Awlgriped hull with white stripes. The interior is spotless from the bilges to the headliner. New upholstery and varnished wood surrounds you in traditional luxury. The 4 cylinder reliable Universal Westerbeke diesel runs perfectly. "Petrel" is a complete boat from the diesel, tiller (with pilot) roller furling and large cockpit, it can take any weather safely, comfortably, easily and in style! 1964 Pearson Vanguard This Vanguard was designed by Philip Rhodes and she's hull number 294 - 400 were built Rhodes between 1963 and 1967. Sadly she has not been launched in over 12 years but fortunately it's been stored inside and has only been used fresh water. She's a real beauty which classic sailboats are noted for.

1965 Pearson 32 Vanguard 32' Pearson Vanguard '65 "Japaka" This Philip Rhodes classic is beautiful to look at and a joy to sail. The current owners, who grew up with this boat, have spent the past seven years restoring and upgrading her while maintaining many original details. A move to Europe forces them to reluctantly list her for sale. Work since 2007 includes a new Yanmar YGM30G diesel (330 hours), a new 3-blade prop, prop shaft, and PYY dripless shaft seal; new running/standing rigging, new spruce spreaders, and double lifelines; total rewiring; Furuno GPS, depth and temperature instruments (2012); a new mainsail with two rows of reef points; Force 10 2-burner propane stove with oven and broiler, Lavac head and 25 gallon holding tank; custom interior cabinetwork in teak and mahogany and mahogany hatch covers fore and aft. Two new opening ports in the main cabin make a total of six opening ports. Bottom and topsides painted at haul-out in 2012.
