2001 Hunter Helsen Signature 470 This special offering is likely the most expensive yacht ever built by Helsen and Hunter at a cost of over $700,000 to build, and her name is Belle Ile!  One of two ever built and the only one on the resale market. The Signature 470 has 167 upgrades from the Hunter 460 model. Here is the history of the Hunter-Helsen Signature 470.  Johannes Jopie Helsen turned the stock 46-foot Hunter Sailboat into an elegant high end cruising yacht at Sailor's Wharf, his boatyard on Salt Creek in St. Petersburg. One of the most dramatic changes is in the hull itself. Helen cut off the transom of the production boat and designed a new sugar scoop that adds 1.5-feet to the overall waterline, giving the boat better performance and an updated look. The extended transom also provides a platform for diving and swimming. The trailing edge of the keel is faired for good upwind performance. Other upgrades include a stainless steel and vinyl rub rail, an Awlgrip paint system in custom colors, a 22-karat gold leaf sheer stripe, Harken hardware, electric halyard winch and a steel cockpit arch. Helsen worked with Mark Pooch of Doyle Sails in Clearwater to produce a performance sail package and added 100 square feet to the sail plan. The upgraded interior is elegant ash and teak with a teak and holly sole. The interior features an entertainment system that includes multiple flat-screen televisions. Stainless steel hatches and ports have custom shades that convert to screens. The master stateroom berth has a thick custom mattress made in California specifically for the Signature 470.   Corian custom counters and faucets with gold accents were added. The Signature 470 has 167 upgrades from the standard Hunter 46. Belle Ile is Helsen's masterpiece with a rich dark forest green Awlgrip hull. The three stateroom, two head layout provides perfect accommodations for two couples with some grandkids included. She is designed to be comfortable and pleasing in every aspect with the interior design completed by a professional (expensive) interior designer choosing the window treatments, upholstery, carpets, artwork, brass lighting, Corian, and soft high quality coverings all professionally implemented. The intention of total comfort continues right into the cockpit that is perfect for entertaining with seating for about ten people with a walk-through transom, swim platform, and a large cockpit table and many drink holders. The new (2016) bimini, dodger and enclosure provide shade and weather protection and of course there are cockpit cushions. There is no shortage of amenities to rival any other sail boat with the ice maker, flat screens TVs, air conditioning and a large 6kw Northern Lights Genset with l

Cabo Rico sailboats are not just built, they are created. Her timeless design, from the clipper bow sprit sweeping gracefully into her jaunty sheer, to her easy to handle modern rig, the Cabo Rico 38 was conceived, designed, and built to be the perfect cruising yacht. Cabo Rico Yachts were built in San Jose, Costa Rica where they found a balance of highly skilled craftsman and production facilities that combine traditional boat building methods with todays materials, technologies, and cost effective management. The modern 125,000 square foot facility included; a lumber mill where they plane, size and kiln dry their own solid teak; a cabinet shop where all joinery is hand assembled to exacting tolerances; a metal shop for fabricating pulpits, rails, chain plates, bow fittings, and other custom stainless steel hardware; and a separate building for all fiberglass molding and final assembly. Each Cabo Rico was hand crafted beginning with a heavily built hull that far exceeded even todays standards. Alternative layers of fiberglass mat and roving fiberglass are hand laid to a thickness of 1 surrounding the keel and ¾ to the sheer. From the garboards to the rub rail a 5/8 balsa wood core adds tremendous strength to the topsides, while providing excellent sound deadening and insulating qualities. The ballast is pre-formed casting fitted into the keel cavity. All voids are filled with a special fiberglass compound and the whole area is covered with layers of fiberglass and floor cross members. The keel encapsulation procedure insures the immobility of the ballast while providing extra strength, rigidity and the security of a double thick hull in this crucial area. Like the hull, the deck is also of one-piece molded construction. It to, has a balsa wood core providing superior strength and rigidity along with excellent insulating qualities. Extra wide side decks and molded in bulwarks assure safe footing while adding strength and water-tight integrity and at the hull-deck joint. A molded anchor locker with teak deck hatches, roller chocks, teak cap rails, hooded companionway, two chromed bronze dorade vents mounted on plexi-glass and teak boxes, the teak and plex-iglass deck hatches, along with the highest quality stainless steel and chrome plated hardware, ports and hawser holes are among a few of the amenities that you will find on the Cabo Rico 38. IMPETUOUS III is a beautiful example of the Cabo Rico 38 and s

1982 O'Day 34- REPOWERED AND R E F I T An updated and well maintained ODay 34, INDIAN SUMMER was repowered in 2005 with a new Yanmar engine and transmission package and a 3.5 kW Phasor generator.  Surely to please even the most discriminating buyer, INDIAN SUMMER is ready to continue cruising in comfort and style.  Dont settle for a boat that needs upgrading, this one is ready now.    With beautiful interior teak and paneled bulkheads, louvered cabinet doors and matching upholstery, this 34 is surely to please every discriminating buyer.    "The O'Day 34 is one boat that will please both the competitors and cruising sailors in your family.  It's a high-performance sea-going cruiser designed by John Deknatel of C. Raymond Hunt and Associates to offer the speed and roominess of a bigger boat, the handling and responsiveness of a smaller boat, and the comforts and amenities of a well-appointed yacht.  And it does it all for a surprisingly affordable O'Day price..."   From the original O'Day 34 brochure.   The first thing you will notice about INDIAN SUMMER is her good looks, classic yacht proportions and her graceful low profile silhouette.  There are contemporary accents like smoked glass plexiglass port lights and a flush mounted forward hatch.  The cockpit is enclosed with a full 4-side Sunbrella green enclosure with added screens.   The good first impression is more than realized out once you step onboard! The clean uncluttered decks, intelligently organized rig, extensive detailing and painstaking finishes are proof that the ODay 34 is built to sail.    Teak handrails, companionway grab-rails and full length teak exterior cabin trim are just some examples.  Molded-in nonskid deck finish covers every working surface.  A recessed, self-draining anchor locker in the foredeck and cast stem head fitting with an integral anchor roller make anchor work and storage easy and safe.  Double bow and stern pulpits, reinforced stations and a single life line are standard.  A stern mounted folding swim ladder adds to the safety characteristics.  A seafood protects the sliding companionway hatch from wind and weather.  The cockpit is shielded with a full enclosure and high coamings.  The countered cockpit seats are very comfortable and there are closed foam cushions to ensure comfort and relaxation.  There are two large cockpit lazarettes and propane storage.    The thoughtful design and detailing are continued thro
