All major steel construction has been completed, including grinding of all hull welds. The ship has also been sandblasted and painted. There are well over 6,000 hours of construction into the Chinese Junk at this point. The hull, deck, bulwark, and cabin plate are high-strength low-alloy Corten Steel.
