Owner reports engines are strong. With most of its life being in fresh water, and owners maintenance - its ready to go wherever. Very nice rails and floor in nice shape. Platform is large and strong. Engine room is very clean. Some rub rail work is needed. Stock #256429 Nice classic Fast Trawler, mostly freshwater with recent upgrades ... Cat 3208's Well preserved and maintained 1981 Californian. A legendary fast trawler (aka LRC - Long Range Cruiser) was built at Marshall Boat Works in California (not the later Wellcraft) The current owner purchased this freshwater boat and used it only a few times over his several year ownership. During this time he maintained the engines and major systems as well as adding multiple solar panels. The 3208 Cats are in great shape and ready to take you on the Great Loop, or day tripping. Speed with the Cats is reported to be a 16 Knot cruise at 9 gallons per hour. Outdoor layout is lovely with large swim platform, back deck and a full walk around capability. Captain door leads to this walk-around that has railings and is very wide for this size boat. Reason for selling is getting out of boating.

This 1981 CHB 34 Double cabin has a fairly new Bimini canvas, and a great winter canvas that covers the flybridge and aft portions of the boat. This should provide excellent winter protection for the boat. There are minor soft spots on the upper deck, and a one interior wall panel in the aft cabin that needs to be replaced due to water damage. However, it appears leaks have been fixed, as there are no visible water stains on the ceiling or other walls. The winter canvas is doing its job. Some of the exterior woodwork could use some care when the rains stop. It appears solid, however. Stock #269716 ***SALE PENDING*** Great liveaboard - Mechanically sound - Newer Electronics - Make Offer!!! This 1981 CHB 34 Double Cabin trawler would make a fantastic liveaboard or long range cruiser. This boat has a great layout with two cabins, two heads, and with the convertible salon settees, she'll sleep a total of 8. There is also a fully equipped galley and a large flybridge and a lower helm is standard. The CHB 34 is built on a solid fiberglass hull with a long, prop-protecting keel A single 120hp Lehman diesel will cruise at 6-7 knots burning just 2-3 gallons per hour. The Owner has provided the following information: She is a good boat; actually, she is a great boat !! Live aboard with a comfortable forward and aft cabin, each equipped with a head and shower, A full galley with a 4-burner propane stove and refrigerator. A perfect boat for the San Juan's that has been through the Inner Passage with her previous owner while I took her up and down between the Sounds and the Columbia River via the coast twice without any problems, proving that she is a very worthy "offshore" ship as well with an approximate range of 800Nm using 1.5 Gph (300G capacity). Both heads were completely rebuilt with all hoses, fittings, piping and valves replaced, as well as replacement of the water heater element. The interior has lots of beautiful teak, mahogany and hardwood floors throughout. There are a few minor spots with water damage, in the aft cabin only, that require some simple resealing of a few window frames and decking to alleviate the issue. However, have since solved the problem by having over $4000 worth of a custom build covering installed (4/'19) for the entire upper deck (flybridge) as well as the complete aft portion of the boat, including a matching bimini top, to ensure that she is completely dry and as good as covered mooring spot. The exterior needs a little "cosmetic" care even though most of the "hard labor" has been done for you. It took 70 man-hours to remove 3 layers of varnish from the wood finish. You would own a very nice boat for well below its valued price that would include an array of extras, including charts and maps plus owner/operating manuals for all systems and equipment. Reason for selling is time to move on after many wonderful years.
