1975 Barron Sprint, right hand drive. It was raced under the name SS 66 "Orca" in the mid to late 70's. It was owned and operated by a race team out of Phoenix, AZ. The boat still has a lot of life left in it and a lot of good hardware already mounted. The boat is rigged to be snout driven with a solid driveline, and yes, the right hand prop comes with it. It has a Casale 10deg V-drive with Finish line hardware and drop-through strut and fins. The trailer hubs were freshened up and new tires put on it in February of 2015. The paint has a few minor battle scars and one of the sideboards has a small break in it. There is no evidence of any major repairs to the hull that I can see. I have a ton of pictures of both the boat and trailer, message me if your interested. Welcome any questions you might have.

Selling my newly restored 1981 Spectra 19' V-Drive. Boat is very fast. Restored in 2013-14 with brand new interior, gauges, powder coating, carpet and interior gelcoat.  Engine is a 522 Merlin by World Products with a Carson Brummett intercooler and injected induction system. Turbos are Turbonetics. Race Aero dual core intercooler. Short list as follows... Edelbrock aluminum marine heads with inconel valves and full roller valve train All forged internal components, 85# Bosch injectors running off a Pantera fuel injection system running tuned port, coil on cylinder mapping. Motor is built with premium everything, making well over 1100 hp.  1981 Spectra 19' rigged by Bob Teague in the early 80's for a well regarded automotive painter in the valley who put an absolutely insane paint job on it, which has survived for the most part. It had pin striping on it that was in bad shape, but it has all been professionally sanded and polished off. My intent was to do a little more pin striping on it, then to clear coat the whole boat with a modern clear to leave it good for another generation. Close up pictures of the boat show how clean it still is. Will look better with newer pins. The existing ones were from the early "Miami Vice" era with much pink... was going to re-do with charcoal and purples to update while staying period correct.  It was on the cover of Popular mechanics Magazine in 1989 regarding California Muscle or something. Pretty cool... have the scans of the original magazine.  During re-rig, the Casale 10 degree box got gone through, and it now has 40% overdrive gears in it. New seals and gear fluid this year.  Prop is a D&J Custom two blade in great shape.  Boat got a brand new tow cover and stainless bimini top with flush billet mounts.  Custom -10 fuel system using a Weldon fuel pump and Aeromotive filters and regulator. I probably dropped $3K on stainless and fittings on this rebuild alone. Lots of engine bling to be had.  Turbo 400 tranny rebuilt before I got to it, and works great.  Gauges are all Auto Meter including custom air/fuel meter and GPS speedo.  Cavitation hardware all in great shape, added a 1000 gph automatic bilge pump during rebuild.  Nav lights have been added, as well as big oil cooler, tranny cooler and the V-drive box is cooled as well.  Trailer is in great shape, tandem axle with good tires and wheels and new lighting throughout.  Boat cuts through chop amazingly well, and was originally rigged as an endurance ski race boat.  Boat is turn-key and river ready. Many videos and pics from the last two weekends. No problem with test drives in the Yuma area (Lake Martinez) for qualified buyers with deposit.  Will consider partial trades for off road cars, sand cars, motorcycles like BMW or Ducati, guitar recording gear, Jeeps, competition ski boats, enclosed car haulers, buggies and lots of stuff. No hard tail motorcycles.

73 HONDO Flatbottom Ski boat that has been brought back to life! I bought this boat last summer after it had been stored inside for a few years. It has a fresh mild build (0) hours 454 and Casale V-Drive with tach drive. We spent many hours getting her ready to go again. Including pulling and cleaning the gas tanks, and installing a new Holley blue fuel pump. Re-building the neovane 755 water pump. New starter, alternator and battery. New tires and wheel bearings on the trailer. The headers have baffles in them so its not to loud. It is lake ready! I've used USHIP several times in the last year and it's cheaper to move these boats than you would think. email with question's. I'm not an expert but I do have a few of these boats.

Those are the main parts... THE ENGINE MASTERMIND I'm friends with Craig, owner of BDS (Blower Drive Service) - Craig has been building Blowers and Complete Blower Motors for 45 years. Craig selected the compression ratio, the camshaft profile, the blower pulleys, the engine tuner, machine shop etc... Craig hooked me up with everybody I needed to get this motor built so it came out real nice. THE STORY ABOUT THE HULL This is a 46 year old classic ski boat design that was never intended for 800 HP. The steep 9 degree propeller shaft angle is designed to make the boat pop right up out of the water with a skier in tow. With 800 HP, the boat jumps completely out of the water, which limits the usability of all of that power. The fix is to install a 7 degree strut and move the engine forward about 12 inches so the boat would go forward instead of up. Plus, the floor is delaminating and needs to be re-fiberglassed (in my opinion). THE CASALE V-DRIVE 12 degree with prop release (whirl-away) and 22 gears. The shifter has a detent safety button to keep it in gear. Has a Heavy Duty, 6 Bolt, Stainless Steel, Balanced, Propeller Shaft Coupler from Beaver Fab, THE TRAILER New axles, good tires and has a unique wood platform that is really cool. WHY SELLING I am moving 2300 miles away and I have 3 trailers but only 2 tow vehicles. And, I own another "more" family friendly boat (supercharged 21' open bow). I don't need to sell, it makes moving a bit easier... THE PRICE $15,000. I prefer cash in person. OWNERSHIP TITLES - REGISTRATION I have Current Registration and Clear California Titles in hand for the Schiada Hull and the Trailer. QUESTIONS? I am glad to answer any questions you have. cell 909-510-1167, SHIPPING I would probably deliver anywhere for the cost of fuel. Thanks for looking! Want more? Watch these videos: Video 1 : In this video, the propeller shaft coupler broke in half (no big deal) and the engine revved up hitting the rev limiter. It has MSD soft touch rev limiter set at 7000 RPM. But you can hear how good it runs!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bseaL1VBLnM Video 2 : I have the original small ski prop installed and the boat will not hook up at all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72kSDQZfD64&feature=related Video 3 : Puddingstone with headers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk_vkfchWS4 Video 4 : Here it idle on the trailer after I built the new exhaust pipes with mufflers and baffles. http://s795.photobucket.com/user/flatbottomvdrive/media/boatrunning.mp4.html

But if you ever get the impression that we're a bunch of land-bound stoplight junkies, you'd be highly mistaken. The Queen City has quite a lot to offer when it comes to water sports. And when you get the opportunity to sport something as awesome as this 1964 Hallett Barron Drag Boat, there's no better place to be! Believed to have served only three owners, this highly original, built-to-order classic mixes 440 cubic inches of RB V8 with classy pearl paint, a gorgeous Hawaiian Monkey-Pod hull, vintage tuck-and-roll upholstery and an original custom trailer. If you're shopping for a bad to the bone investment that's fun to look at, a blast to drive and ready to turn heads as soon as it rolls out of the showroom: congratulations, you've found your next obsession! HISTORY "I had no knowledge of either Hallett sale. I would have never let that boat out of our shop, with that Monkey-Pod deck." Jerry Barron of Hallett Boats When the head of the company that created your boat is quoted as saying he would've kept the hull for himself, you know you have one awesome ride! This 1964 Hallett Barron is a built-to-order classic that was 1 of only 100 produced and is believed to be 1 of only 4 still in existence. According to the folks at Hallett Boats, the vessel stayed with its original owner until his passing, and was eventually reacquired from that owner's children. As mentioned, Hallett then flipped the boat to its second owner, a California man. Some years later, when that California man decided to list the craft on eBay, the current owner spotted the listing but decided against a purchase. Then, about six months after the listing had expired, a deal was struck and the boat took up residence in Charlotte, North Carolina. HULL Officially classified as an 18-foot Hallett Drag Boat that's built around a Barron flat-bottom hull, this awesome craft is an immaculate, highly original cruiser that's been lightly freshened as needed. Since 2006, the boat has been regularly stored in a private, climate-controlled garage and, judging by its stellar appearance, probably hasn't seen severe weather since its 1964 debut. An original, never restored hull is crafted from rare Hawaiian Monkey-Pod wood that's completely cold-molded in a sturdy fiberglass shell. That 'glass is dressed in snazzy Pearl White and Metal Flake Red aesthetics. And overall, the boat is so clean that it could've freshly breached a 51-year-old time capsule. Inside, simplicity is the name of the game. An original Mahogany dash anchors an original Jones Motrola tachometer and original Stewart Warner accessory gauges in the sheen of original varnish. Flawless tuck-and-roll upholstery perfectly matches the boat's stylish paint. A solid floor frames a small forward/neutral shifter, a vintage Hall-Craft throttle pedal and an inconspicuous kill switch. And the driver navigates water through a classy Teak steering wheel. ENGINE That mention of 'simplicity' brings to mind another buzzword: 'speed'. And, thanks to the boat's 440 cubic inch RB V8, its proud new owner will certainly enjoy both 'speed' and 'simplicity'! More popular than the famed Hemi, Chrysler's stalwart 440 was designed to be the automotive industry's best combination of comfort, reliability and big block performance. Oxygen whips from stylized California Custom Accessories air cleaners to big Carter carburetors, which ride on a coated Weiand intake. At the front of that intake, an MSD Pro-Billet distributor spins between a mild cam and thick MSD Super Conductor plug wires. At the sides of those wires, polished Mickey Thompson valve covers perfectly complement over the transom tail pipes and water-cooled Glenwood exhaust manifolds. And a high quality Casale V-drive, threaded through a chrome driveshaft safety ring, keeps everything in motion. Naturally, the Metal Flake monster sips fuel through braided fluid lines, which are piped to a duo of manually switched gas tanks. The aforementioned shifter controls an in-and-out transmission that's devoid of reverse. And polished Nicson covers, a reproduction MoPar battery and aircraft-quality steering cables complete the old school look. TRAILER A prestigious trophy just doesn't pop without a cool display. In the case of this memento, that display is a custom trailer that, as far as we can tell, appears to be original equipment. Predictably, the rig is covered in the same Pearl White paint that adorns the boat's hull. Everything rides on painted steel wheels, which lap a quartet of 6.50-15 BF Goodrich Silvertown whitewalls around dent-free trim rings and smooth center caps. And, as you might expect, the trailer has lived the majority of its life stored indoors. If you get the impression that we've grown particularly fond of this Hallett, you'd be exactly right! Rare and interesting classics ALWAYS get our blood flowing. And this stylish wave crusher, with its incredible performance, striking originality and precise craftsmanship, is dripping with the scarce qualities that literally define the term "unique". If you're looking for a fresh way to enjoy a little motorized speed, here's your chance to make some serious waves! About This Auction Please note that all sales are binding and final.
