She is powered by a Yanmar 2YM15 diesel engine that moves her nicely when needed.
Overall, it is a beautiful sloop-rigged sailing delight. Easy handling, easy reefing, with an adjustable main sheet traveler for sailing very close-hauled and pointing high to windward.

2017 Catalina 275 Sport The Catalina 275 sport is truly a dual purpose sailboat. Most performance sailboats, under 30' have become a MAX effort race boats. Which are quite fun to sail, but they are a bit technical. Cruising boat have also evolved into MAX interior volume and MAX comfort, which does have effect on sailing characteristics Most Performance sailboats have no useable interior space and require extra crew to sail and to keep the boat flat in moderate breeze. In our quest to "Go Fast" and race at the pinnacle level of our sport we have gotten away from boats that can do both. A boat that can compete in club races, but also have enough of an interior to include an enclosed head and be comfortable enough to overnight on the boat.
