2002 Sunfish Sailboat by Vanguard and 2001 Midwest Trailer If you have been looking for a nice little sail boat, this may be it. This 2002 Sunfish sailboat and 2001 Midwest trailer have been in storage for over 10 years and look like they are brand new. Bright, shiny, and clean, the boat is in excellent condition and looks like it has never seen the water. The sail has bright vibrant colors with no signs of fading, tears, etc.. The boat is complete with everything pictured and it has a clear registration that will be signed over with a bill of sale at time of full payment and pickup. The trailer is also in excellent condition. Takes a 2" ball, good tires, no rust, pulls nicely. I do not have a current registration, and do not want to pay the $75.00 fee to get one, so the trailer will come with a bill of sale including the vin #, year, make, and model so you can put it in your name. The pictures show exactly what the sailboat and trailer look like but you are welcome to come and look at them anytime before the auction ends. Please contact me if you have any questions or if you are interested in looking at them. This item is sold as is. I try to describe my items as accurately as possible, so please read the description and look at the pictures closely. Thank you for looking and good luck bidding.

I paid $1,575 for this boat 7 years ago. It had sat in someones garage for 30 years. It was in fantastic shape when I bought it. It was used 2 times the first year I got it. I had grown up sailing a sunfish and bought it hoping I would use it a lot at the lake in Mashpee Massachusetts summer cottage where it has been stored. It has been stored year round underneath tarps completely covered year round. This sale includes the boat, the sail, the ropes, the mast, 2 centerboards, and the rudder. The rudder was missing the last segment when I bought it-the part you hold on to, so I invented a last segment which worked fine for me. One centerboard is in great shape, the other in ok shape. The one piece of damage is seen clearly in the photos- one piece of metal strapping has peeled away from the edge. I am sure someone who knows what they are doing can bend it back. I would rather not attempt it myself. It was watertight when I sailed it. It is sold as is.It is a great deal.Cape Cod Mashpee on the shore of a lake.

A user informed me that this is most likely a Iota 12, Catboat, (Frostbiter) from 1989. There were only 8 made by http://brucekirbymarine.org Bruce Kirby Marine. Bruce Kirby is an Olympic and America's Cup sailor. Possibly the most prolific boat and yacht designer of all time with over 60 boats. According to US Coast Guard built by Stur-Dee Boat Company of Tiverton, Rhode Island. The only other know boat is a restored one: http://sailingtexas.com/201301/siota12101.html more info here: www.rvharvey.com/iota.htm That one is restored and for sale for $2500.00 12' fiberglass monohull boat daysailer sailboat dinghy sunfish type There are no manufacturer's name on the boat I was told that this may be a lancraft Kite. This was a competitive class in California at one point. Here is a link with more information. on the stern section right side has a serial number SDB 001088585 12 foot long blue fiberglass boat by 5 foot wide some hardware on the boat is marked "harken"and "FICO Austrailia" Comes with sail, removeable daggerboard, mast Aluminum Mast and rigging might need some work. small 6" fins are broken HH Hild Sails Racing Division 15 ft sail The aluminum reinforcing patch at the top of the sail needs to be re riveted Teak bench seat is cracked. some minor chips in the fiberglass basically need a little work and a rudder and tiller I believe you might be able to get parts here: http://www.sunfishsailboatparts.com/ They said about $250 for a rudder and tiller I would consider a trade for kayaks No reasonable offer will be refused
