1970 Alberg 30 "Sugar" is a very rare find!  She is a classic 1970 Alberg 30 which has been upgraded into a modern cruising boat. Owned by the owners of a prominent marine canvas business in St. Augustine, she has been expertly and professionally restored and cared for. Her 18 HP Yanmar engine has undergone regular maintenance and has under 350 hours on it (be sure to view the video!). The rigging and sails are only three years old. Both interior and exterior have been totally redone. This is a classic full-keeled cruiser/racer designed by Carl Alberg, with a beautiful sheer and graceful overhangs. These boats were raced extensively before the more modern racing designs took over, and they can still hold their own against the modern fleet. If you like traditional boats and want to own an ungraded piece of sailing history, this is the ship for you! All new canvas Only 350 hours on professionally maintained 18 HP Yanmar Full canvas cockpit enclosure Teak side boarding ladder Cruisair marine air conditioner (can be run at anchor with a small generator on deck!) Marine refrigeration All new wiring Teak toe rail replaced with modern aluminum one Autopilot Recent Awlgrip on decks and hull New interior cushions Tiller steering New steel handrails on deck Sails and rigging replaced 3 years ago, in great shape Roller furling jib and pack-type system for main This little beauty is turn-key. 1968 Alberg Atomic Four This very pretty Alberg 30, designed by Carl Alberg and built by Whitby Boat Works in Canada, is a very popular cruising boat. She is very safe, stiff, dry and is a sea-kindly motion boat for long passages across large bodies of water. Sweet Old Boat was totally restored several years ago and nothing was left to be done. To restore her glory she will only need cleaning and attention to bright work on her wood trim. Seven years ago she had a new Selden mast, boom, standing rigging, new mainsail and roller furling. New Raymarine wind speed, depth, VHF radio and new CD-AM/FM, were also installed at this time. Come aboard this Sweet Old Boat and sail her away today!

1975 Bristol 27   1975 Bristol 27 Dinette Designed by Carl Alberg, Bristol Yachts made this boat in three different models (Weekender, Cruising, Dinette) of which this is the dinette model. She sleeps 5 in a cabin with 62 max headroom. Her forward berths are 66 long and the starboard settee is 64. The dinette converts to a double. She was built with the strongest material available, which attests to why she is just as strong today. Her rig is deck stepped and the sailplan is masthead and provides all the power you need. Her full keel and attached rudder provides all the stability for very stiff winds. The head is private and lies between the forward and main cabin. The toilet is to port with a hanging locker across on the starboard side. The cockpit is self-bailing and 62 long. Mast is 319 and the boom 12. Powered by a 30 HP Universal Atomic 4 Gas Inboard

1972 Kenner Kittiwake The Kittiwake, designed by Carl Alberg and derived from the earlier South Coast 23, was built by Kenner Boat Co. for South Coast Sea Craft. In about 1965, South Coast took the molds and moved to a different location. A hull was left behind which Kenner cut, enlarged by a few inches, and re-faired to make molds for the Kittiwake. Sometime around 1970, the factory was sold to a conglomerate named AJ Industries which continued to produce Kittiwakes under the Kenner name. In 1973, Ray Greene & Co. of Toledo, bought the molds and built an unknown number of Kittiwakes until it ceased operation. Later, River City Sailcraft obtained one or more molds and built an unknown number of Kittiwakes. In 1978 the plant reportedly burned, and the molds were destroyed. This Kenner Kittiwake is in below average overall condition for her age, as she has a slightly soft fore deck and some deck leaks port and starboard side amidships that appear to be from lifeline stanchions. Tara appears to have a good paint job on the bottom, but there is a heavy build up of paint. The starboard side of the topsides of the hull is in good condition, but the port side has some minor surface abrasions. The cockpit grate looks very nice. The sails are all 40+ years old, with the main needing some stitching. The outboard motor is a 2004 Johnson 8 two stroke. This is the second owner for 30 years. Tara has great potential for a refit and could end up being a beautiful boat!

www.FlatFeeYachtBroker.com for more pic's Sailors in the market for a traditionally styled, sturdily built cruising boat under 30 feet in length have two options. They can spend $150,000 or more for a custom or semi-custom built boat from one of several manufacturers, or they spend a lot less for a good used boat from one of several production boat builders who used to build such models. The Cape Dory 28, offered by Cape Dory Yachts from 1975 to 1988, is the latter. This model was designed by Carl Alberg whose conservative design style seldom wavered regardless of size. I suspect he didn't like tinkering much with a proven formula. The Cape Dory 28 features a full-length keel with attached rudder, relatively low freeboard, a very handsome sheer and a well proportioned traditional trunk cabin. The bow and stern are nicely balanced and overhangs are a bit shorter, relative to the overall length, than Alberg's earlier designs. The overall length of this model is 28' 1-1/4".

This auction is for a 1980 Cape Dory 27 sailboat. Alberg designed coastal cruiser. Inboard diesel engine original Yanmar YSB8 8HP. The Cape Dory 27 is a well designed and built coastal cruiser highly regarded by sailors for it's solid construction and heavy weather comfort. She features a full keel with a draft of 4 feet and an 8.5 feet beam. Previous owner purchased this boat in Panama City, Flordia 3 years ago and sailed her down the Gulf of Mexico, around the tip of Key West and back north to her present location in Jacksonville, NC. PO attests to her performance in both light and heavy weather. She is tiller steered, simply rigged and can be single-handed easily, but large enough for two to comfortly cruise with 6 feet of standing head room. There are three head sails, including a spinnaker, working jib and storm jib. Jibs are hank-on. The mainsail has been ripped and patched, but should be replaced. The hull and topsides are in good condition for a boat of this age. A good buffing and wax will restore the fiberglass to beautiful condition. DC power is provided by two good marine grade batteries. The batteries are kept charged by an installed battery charger. Running and anchor lights all work. Depth sounder works but might need calibration. Shrouds, forestay, backstay, deck stepped aluminum mast and chainplates are in good shape. Features standard layout below with V berth for two, starboard berth in main cabin and a marine head with holding tank. All electric down below is 12 volt DC power. Has beautiful teak bulkheads. Berth and seat cushions are in good shape. Has ice box, vhf radio, tape deck, lots of storage and miscellaneous spare parts. Includes winch handle, five life jackets, flares which may need replaced, teak and holly sole (Floor), spotlight and other devices. Has installed and working 500GPH electric bilge pump and a hand-operated bilge pump with handle. Port lights are original Cape Dory and can be opened for ventilation. Port lights include curtains. Other features include: Two burner non-pressurized alchol stove Bow and stern stainless steel pulpit 200 ft of 5/8 nylon anchor rode with 30 ft of 5/8 inch galvanized chain (Needs new anchor) What it needs: New/replacement throttle cable New Fuel and filters Bottom painted Engine is not currently running. It should be gone over by a marine diesel mechanic This yacht needs some TLC and attention, but is not a project boat by any means. A little money and a lot of love will return her to the classic beauty she was when new. PLEASE NOTE: Seriously interested potential buyers are encouraged to inspect this yacht prior to bidding. This yacht is located at the marina aboard Marine Corps Air Station, New River, Jacksonville, NC.
