2008 East Cape Caimen, 2008 East Cape CaimenThis boat was built and equipped to be light as possible and to be as reliable and easy to maintain as a hammer. Powered by the last of the Yamaha 50hp 2 Strokes, she jumps out of the whole and has more than enough top end to blow your hat off.I had this boat custom built by East Cape. It has been a pleasure to fish out of but now it is time to move on to other interests. The motor is in great shape and while it doesnt start as instantly as the new 4 Strokes it has always been reliable and nothing else make this kind of power in the same weight class. The only repair to date outside of normal maintenance has been to change the Tilt Motor and switch, this damage was caused by the second trim switch sticking in the down position while under way. Motor was flushed with fresh water after every trip.Included in the sale is the Yamaha 50TLR, Carbon Marine Mangrove Push Pole, year 2014 Aluminum Trailer with a loose spare, the Minn Kota Riptide iPilot (GPS) Trolling Motor with remote (added in 2010), Wang Anchor Pin with transom bracket and Deep Cycle Battery. The trolling motor battery is roughly a year old but has been well maintained, charges to 100% and has the capacity to fish all day. The trolling motor is attached with a quick disconnect plate and Battery Tender plug for easy removal when it is time to break out the fly rods. Fuel tank is 10 Gallon capacity aluminum. Read the reviews, the Caimen will float in an honest 4 to 7 inches of water depending on how it is loaded. Runs very dry for a boat this size and rides softer than most larger skiffs.
