2000 Hunter 240 The Hunter 240 is a water-ballasted and trailerable sloop that is easily launched or retrieved on a ramp.  The mast can be stepped and rigged quickly and she will accommodate 4 sailors in comfort to include two large double berths fore and aft.  There is a galley unit and this boat has many nice features such as catbird seats, boat and keel guides on the trailer and an open transom for easy climbing on board when the boat is in the water or on the trailer.  The water ballast makes the boat towable with a smaller vehicle as the weight is added after the boat is in the water.  This boat was sailed on Lake Winnipesaukee and so is outfitted accordingly.

2002 Hunter 240 This Hunter 240 is here in the water at our boat yard, and available for viewing.Fun to sail, easy to trailer, and a snap to set up, the Hunter 240 will provide real enjoyment with little effort. The integral water ballast system provides great stability under sail, but also allows for easy trailering with smaller vehicles when emptied. An innovative mast raising system makes rigging and launching an easy exercise. The standard custom trailer will have sailors in and out of the launch ramp in minutes. A large cockpit, plenty of storage, and all lines led aft makes sailing simple. Two double berths - plus a workable galley and portable head - make weekending comfortable. Hunter Marine's water-ballasted trailerables are comfortable cruisers that are easy to tow because the stability is left in the water, not on the trailer. Whether trailer sailing across the country or just across town, Hunter makes the experience truly easy with a rig that is safe, simple, and fast to set up and take down.

The specially-designed sail plan and fiberglass hull is simple to sail, and its fixed shoal keel draws only two feet of water for excellent shallow-water launching and sailing capability. The pocket cruiser sleeps four adults, features a super convenient compact galley and an enclosed head with hard privacy doors. A true trailerable, the 25 comes with an easy mast-raising system that gives sailors the freedom to take it almost anywhere. The 1,300-pound lead keel is encased in fiberglass while in the mold, which allows unencumbered, easy trailering and outstanding directional stability. A galvanized dual-axle trailer is standard equipment. The towing weight for the package is 4,650 pounds. The 25 replaces the popular Hunter 240 and 260, long a mainstay in the company's small boat line. While the 25 may look similar to them from the waterline up, it incorporates 100% new tooling and features numerous improvements. The extended forward V-berth sleeps two, with room for two more to sleep laterally in the berth aft of the companionway ladder. A screened aft bunk hatch, along with six other portholes, provides an exceptionally bright interior, while teak trim adds warmth and richness. A teak dining table, galley sink with 10 gallon-capacity manual water system, portable single-burner stove and portable ice chest are standard equipment. The "Luxury Package" of options includes Sunbrella¨ interior cloth; accordion shades; 12-volt cooler; and marine head with holding tank. The cockpit features an open, roomy design and an open transom. 1993 Hunter Passage 42 - PROTEUS Set up for serious off-shore passage making and fully self-sufficient off-the-grid cruising. Has recently (beginning 2014) sailed in England, the coast of Europe and the western Med (2015) and crossed the Atlantic to the Caribbean (Nov 2015). Came up through the Caribbean (spring 2016). This yacht was never chartered, always privately owned, and meticulously cared for. All servicing and installations were done to a high standard. All safety equipment is up-to-date. The yacht participated in the ARC (Atlantic Rally for Cruisers) which requires a high standard of safety equipment, training, and inspections. The yacht has been certified as a Class-A offshore sailing yacht. All documentation is available and will be conveyed to future owner. The previous owners lived aboard, loved every minute of it, but are now moving back on land for a few years and do not want the boat to sit and atrophy. She needs to go to a good home and to someone who will continue the journey! She has taken care of her owners for years and will continue to do so for many years to come. S/V PROTEUS is "overbuilt" and designed for extended offshore passage-making and off-the-grid cruising. Just want to jump all the way down to the USVI instead of going the super-slow way all the way through the Bahamas? Okay. The previous owners just made a passage from the Dominican Republic straight to Ft.Lauderdale (March 2016). Seven days offshore? No problem. PROTEUS has a thicker hull, reinforced rigging, extra backstay (B&R rigs normally don't have them). Massive solar panels, watermaker, genset, wind generator – all these advanced features make for a yacht that can go anywhere, do anything, and actually be comfortable while doing it. The solar panels were upgraded in 2015, and the owners report that they lived entirely off the solar panels and almost never used the generator while underway. Occasionally, you'll hear people scoff at production yachts for being only for "coastal" cruising. "Oh, I'd never cross an ocean in that!" Not the Passage 42! Did I mention she's cruised in the North Sea and English Channel recently? When there were only aluminum-hull Ovni's and other "extreme" sailboats and expedition yachts at the docks, PROTEUS was right in there with the best of them. All image were made in June 2016 except the two exterior shots, which were made in Spain and Gibraltar in June 2015. More photographs are available on request. Here is an interior walkthrough. Arrangements will be made to assist the Buyer in learning all of this yacht's systems. Current owner offers contact for any questions after the sale of the yacht. Final Thoughts from the Owner:We truly love this boat. Because of our time on PROTEUS, we will never be the same. Everywhere we go and everything we do for the rest of our lives will be colored by our experiences sailing this yacht. And it's not like we're ridiculously rich – we did everything on a modest budget, mostly on savings – but we did it, and you can, too. If you were looking for a chance to cut the lines and live like you always dreamed, PROTEUS could be that chance. It was for us. England, Ireland, Gibraltar, Morocco, half the islands in the Caribbean... it was all in reach, just outside the window. We look back on it now and think: "What on earth did we just do!?!" But we did. PROTEUS took us there. She'll take you there.
