As we begin a new boating season, I am offering this great vessel at a very compelling price, much lower than last summer's listing. When you compare our vessel's roominess, cleanliness, and restored durability to any other boat, she is certainly unique and a tremendous value. UPDATE: Four Saturdays is now in the water and readily available for inspection. I strongly encourage seriously interested parties to visit her. Classic lines with modern style and amenities are a striking combination. NOTE: This classic vessel is not just another patched up old boat. I has been gone through a multi-year, ground up rebuild. Granted, that makes it somewhat difficult to find comparables for pricing, but as you will see below, this is not going to be a money making venture for me, but a killer deal for you. Offered for sale is our family's pride and joy, the Four Saturdays (the name is derived from our last name, which means Saturday in Polish, and our family of Four). I have spent 2010-2012 (losing count after 3000 man hours) completely restoring this classic. Pacemakers were handmade in Egg Harbor, New Jersey, until the company was purchase by Chris Craft. This motor yacht was brought to the Great Lakes thru the Erie Canal in 1966 to Minnesota, via the Illinois and Mississippi Rivers. She spent most of her life there, until I purchased and brought her back 1100 nautical miles to Lake Michigan. It is what I describe as a "restomod"... I've kept the classic lines of the vessel, but have improved most aspects of it for useability, longevity, and style in the modern world. Listed below will be a long, boring list of all of the work done, but, in a nutshell, the result is a very unique vessel that my family of four has enjoyed as a liveaboard for the last four summers. Because of this restoration, she is ready to last another 47 years. Four Saturdays garners a lot of attention as we cruise the waters around Holland, Michigan, and is reliable as the day is long. She's got a displacement hull, so she's not fast, but she'll run all week at 9-11 knots. The Detroit Diesels mated to Twin Disc transmissions start immediately, run flawlessly, and have only 2300 hours from NEW. Ask any diesel mechanic, and they will confirm that these motors are practically just broken in. The hull is tight and solid, and runs a bilge pump maybe 2 gallons an hour. We live on an end slip on Lake Macatawa, and it's the best lakefront property you'll ever get to enjoy. We had dreamed of moving somewhere warm and living on her year round, which would have been awesome. Unfortunately, we have decided to sell Four Saturdays to pursue some other opportunities. I may consider very compelling partial trades for automobiles or a 26-30' center console fishing boat. A vessel of this size can only be transported via waterway or ship transporter, so please consider this when bidding/buying. I may consider assisting in the transport of her to your desired destination (at additional cost). Likewise, a loan is practically impossible for a vessel of this vintage, so liquid funds are necessary. Notes: A. As some provenance, I have the original build file from Pacemaker that was obtained when the original offices were torn down. As some points of reference, in 1966 the average cost of new house was $14,200.00, average income per year was $6,900.00, and the average cost of a new car was $2,650.00. The price paid for this Pacemaker in 1966 was $79,751.75. In today's dollars, that's $573,693.23. B. I also have countless photos of the entire project stage, including the photos of the 2004/5 $200,000 hull restoration completed by a previous owner. Many of these photos are included in a professionally bound photo book. C. Many ask about maintenance. I was blessed with the time to do this project in a relatively short span of time, but involving thousands of man hours. Most cannot buy out the time to do so. Now that the vessel was stripped bare and completely built back up with longevity in mind, it's just a matter of keeping things that way, which is just like any other home, cottage, or asset. Normally I would agree with those who say NOT to buy a wooden boat... except for the Four Saturdays, because the hard work has all been done. I am in no way saying that she is perfect, but if you want perfect, buy a new plastic boat... costing hundreds of thousands of dollars (maybe millions) more, and nowhere near the uniqueness and character of a classic vessel. Below are the details of this vessel. We thank you for looking at her, and if you are a serious potential buyer and have questions or a request to see her in person, feel free to email me through eBay, or call me at two six nine five zero one three two three two. Obviously, we are selling her with no warranties, expressed or implied, but I have attempted to describe her as completely and honestly as possible. We do have the vessel for sale locally, so we reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Q: Your boat is beautiful! Job very well done! Do you know height of boat from waterline? What is your fuel burn/hr at cruising speed? Range? Boat sleeps? # staterooms, heads, showers? I see you use portable ac units. Are they effective? Do you have any heat source on board? How is boat stored in winter? Draft of boat? Thanks Feb-14-14 A: rob157, Thanks for your comment. We have truly enjoyed our time with her. To answer your questions: A. I have not measured lately the height above the waterline, but I believe it is about 20'. I know that without the lite mast, we navigated under the one bridge on the Illinois Riv. that is fixed at 19'. Sorry for the ambiguity, but since restoring, we have been in waters that are not inhibited by bridges. If you would like a more accurate measurement, please let me know. B. We normally cruise at hull speed, around 9.5-10 knots. My estimated fuel burn per hour is 8-10 GPH. It certainly varies by itinerary. Traveling S from Minnesota via the Mississippi, we cruised at 11 knots at 1.6 mpg. Obviously, because she is a displacement hull, she is never going to be fast, but she runs 5 knots at idle and will run all week at 8-12 knots. She has two 300 gal. rear tanks, fabricated new in 2005, and 2 auxiliary 100 gal. tanks in the engine room, 800 gals total. C. Boat sleeps 6-8. 3 staterooms: 1 master w/queen bed, stateroom 2 w/bunk beds, forward stateroom w/full size bed, and couch in salon that folds to full size bed. Two larger heads: master and main head with enlarged shower. Redesigned from original configuration. Also exterior H/C shower that we use a lot on the enlarged teak swim platform. D. Yes, we use portable A/C units, 2 12000 BTU models, as well as a new low profile 15000 BTU roof unit in the pilothouse, and they work very well. The original A/C was just too inefficient and unreliable. We purchased the portable units as a stopgap measure until we could afford a new bank of conventional marine A/Cs, but they worked so nicely we decided to keep them for the time being. We rarely need any heat source, but when necessary, we have a couple small portable electric heaters. E. Boat is stored outside on the hard in the winter. Firstly, due to my belief that the wood likes it better, and second, due to cost. F. I believe official draft is 3'8". Thanks.

Offered for your consideration is this 1980 18’ Chrysler Buccaneer sailboat. I have the Certificate of Title to the boat, issued in Pennsylvania 9/30/2009. Since that time it has been in the water exactly twice, both times at Marsh Creek Lake in Lionville (Exton) PA. The Hull Identification Number is CBC63159M80E. The boat has been sitting unused and stored outside for the past five years and deserves a new home. Needless to say, since the boat has been stored outside, she will need a thorough cleaning and detail. You’ll probably want to consider painting the hull. The mast, stays, and hardware are all intact. There is a very old fiberglass repair at the bow (see photo). I have at least one sail (no rips or tears but it is dirty) and a spinnaker. There may also be a jib around. The trailer shown in the photos IS included in this sale. I provided a photo to show what the Buccaneer can look like, cleaned up and under sail. The Buccaneer is a very popular boat and there are numerous websites and discussion forums available. The Buccaneer was designed for both pleasure and racing. The Buccaneer 18 Class is friendly and family oriented. This simple sloop is a blast to sail, and easy to maintain. KEY FEATURES · Great Class for Daysailing or competitive Racing · Fast Planing Hull Design · Sloop Rig, Roller Furling Jib · Integral Spinnaker Launch Tube Length Over All: 18' Length of Waterline: 16' 8" Beam 6' Draft (Board Down) 3' 10" Sail Area (Main and Jib) 175 sq. ft. Sail area (spinnaker) 178 sq. ft. Weight (Class Minimum Rigged Boat) 500 lbs Hull Material Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic Spar Material Extruded Aluminum Crew Capacity 1-6 Designed in 1966 by Rod Macalpine-Downie and Dick Gibbs, the Buccaneer incorporates classic elements that have made this racing dinghy a consistent performer for more than 35 years. Due to its hull design, the Buccaneer planes in 8-10 knots of wind. An integrated spinnaker launch tube, roller furling jib, and well-constructed sailplan, 7'3" cockpit with non-skid seats, deck and floor make it a good two-handed racing dinghy. Well balanced and easily handled, the Buccaneer continues to appeal to both seasoned competitors and new sailors. Weighing 500 pounds, the Buccaneer requires a trailer and winch to be launched. A comfortable cockpit arrangement and simple rigging round out the Buccaneer's design, making it a good day sailor for the family. Features: It's a "sit in" rather than a "sit on" boat. The sloop design includes a spinnaker with launch tube. The waterline is as nearly symmetrically heeled as possible, eliminating much of the weather helm caused by heeling. The wide beam at the waterline plane eliminates the need for a trapeze. The boat's potential performance exceeds that of any non-trapeze design so that it is capable of handsomely rewarding the skills of the helmsman and crew. 2003 North River Seahawk 2003 North River SeaHawk 21' overall length with tandem axle trailer.  Boat is in great condition and loaded with many extras.  This boat has been professionally maintained by Tacoma Marine Repair since I purchased it in 2008.  It has been used in the open water out of Westport, and used in smaller water in Puget Sound and fresh water lakes around Western Washington.  This will be a great starter boat for someone, or a great boat for someone that already has boating experience.  It is super easy to operate, launch and load, and has plenty of power to run around the Sound, or to hit the open water out of Westport.  This boat is turn key and includes many extras, including an electric pot puller, trim tabs, wireless kicker motor steering (added in 2016), inside of bow walls has LineX product sprayed in to protect from scratching, canvas bimini top, zip out windows, cruise curtain, and custom mooring cover all new in 2014, SS 19 pitch prop, Humminbird 997c GPS, sonar and fish finder (all waypoints that are for crab will not be deleted from memory), manual cannon downriggers with line counters, custom cutting board installed on the engine cover for cleaning fish, sorting crab, etc., padded cover that was originally on the engine housing also comes with the boat and was reupholstered in 2016 and has been stored and never seen weather, new green and red navigation lights installed in 2016, new fuse panel upgraded from tube style to plug in done in 2016, all wiring and solenoids for the trim were replaced in 2016, all pulleys on the engine were replaced in 2016 along with the serpentine belt and an extra one purchased to store in parts kit that is located in the under bow storage, newer dual batteries with selector switch, tires on the trailer were replaced in 2014 (still like new), buddy bearings on all 4 wheels of the trailer, and heat in the cabin from the heat exchanger that is in the engine compartment.  The engine is fresh water cooled and the manifolds are salt water cooled. All pictures posted to this ad were taken on April 9th, 2017, so they are current and an exact representation of the condition of the boat. This has been a great boat for many years, and the only reason I am selling it is due to me upsizing to a larger vessel. Price is slightly negotiable, but serious inquires only.  Not interested in any trades or low ball offers.

2007 Larson 274 CABRIO This is one of the cleanest mid-range cruisers we have had come through in quite some time. This 2007 Larson 274 Cabrio is a one owner boat that has never even been slept in. There is also only 120 pampered hours of use on a Volvo Penta 5.7 GXi with a Duo~Prop Outdrive. When you see the pictures and video you will see what the fuss is all about! They don't come in much cleaner than this folk's..... There is also a Westerbeak Generator that only has like 25 hours of run time, but will not run at the moment. We don't work on generators so this will have to be addressed and fixed after the sale. We do believe it is possible that the motor may be bad because of the lack of use the Generator had, so please bid accordingly. Honestly it is VERY VERY RARE to even see a Generator is a smaller Mid-Size single engine pocket cruiser like this, so it is a HUGE bonus. Already plumbed and installed whatever tune up or repair is needed it is a great extra feature that is a HUGE bonus for the buyer. TRAILER IS NOT INCLUDED AND IS NOT FOR SALE This is where the designers at Larson have sweetly placed their 2007 Cabrio 274. This 28-foot express cruiser is packed with luxury, a roomy cabin, and the type of amenities usually found on bigger, more expensive boats.ReputationFor more than 92 years, Larson has been building high-quality boats for customers looking for quality and performance, so it comes as no surprise that the 2007 Cabrio 274 is packed with the type of features boat owners seeking this class of boat want to have, and designed in a way that is both stylish and durable. The key to all the room on board the Cabrio 274 is the boats high deck, which adds to the room below and on deck. BelowdeckAccess to the main cabin is through a sliding fiberglass hatch that is amazingly easy to open and close. The richly finished cabin of this boat would not be out of place in a much bigger and more expensive yacht. The cabin features more than 6 2 of headroom and is elegantly styled with beautifully finished cherry laminate cabinets for the galley and premium push-button latches. The galley includes a built-in microwave, single-burner stove, and refrigerator. Ample lighting from side screen-covered portholes and spotlights keep the cabin inviting both day and night. And, if you want to watch a movie, a built-in DVD player with flat screen monitor provides another reason to stay below.A large stand-up head compartment is finished inside with rounded edges to make cleanup easy. The Cabrio 274 comes with a portable toilet and holding tank. Our test boat was outfitted with the optional electric marine toilet with pump out.An additional sleeping berth with room for two is located toward the rear of the main cabin. The forward aka had stainless rods (photo 2 & 3), welded to chainplates, through the aka with a link plate, tightened with nuts over the top. The reason for and condition of the rods is unknown. The interior was small and contained only within the main hull, without wing pods or extensions. The gear stowed below made it difficult to assess the available space and the utility of arrangement. The engine was mounted in an open space with a cover, which was heavy and awkward to move for access to the engine. Steering cables, also in that area, were exposed and should be covered. The rigging cables were very heavy for a boat of this size and weight. If the vessel sails at the design displacement of 8100 lbs., the Bruce No. is 1.27 which indicates a good Page 4 of 12 Survey Harris 38 WINGS August 14, 2011 file Harris38Mar811 performance potential. The first edition of these standards were adopted in 1937, the most recent in 1998. They concern mostly engine, cooking and heating equipment, fire control and electrical systems with particular attention to ignition sources. Many of these standards are very similar in scope and practice to the ABYC standards. FEDERAL REQUIREMENTS AND SAFETY TIPS FOR RECREATIONAL BOATS, published by the United States Coast Guard (USCG), U.S. Department of Transportation, Boating Safety division. This booklet is the free handbook available at most marinas and marine hardware stores. It outlines the safety, lighting and equipment requirements for all recreational vessels. condition: like new engine hours (total): 12 length overall (LOA): 19 make / manufacturer: Glastron model name / number: 195SX propulsion type: power year manufactured: 2006 EXCELLENT CONDITION, LOWEST HOURS EVER - 10 to 15 hours max! THAT'S CORRECT! It has been on the fresh water only 7 times! My soon to be ex worked out of state and came home once every other month in the summer so he would take us boating 1 time a summer on average and there was four years that we did not go ever because of separation. So, it has not been on water in apx 4-5 years but has been well maintained (every other month, and started and ran) and winterized and well kept. It has two brand new tires on the trailer because we had to replace the other ones due to sitting for so long, they had gone flat and the valve stems went bad and the tires got cracked so we just replaced them. All it needs is a battery as of last month because it wasnt being used so it went bad. A seat cushion needs a repair. The last registration was 2009 because we have not taken it on the water since then as I said. I was told there is no registration due from the past on this craft. Boats are different. Other than that, it is remarkable! This boat runs excellent and starts right up every single time! There is minimal marks from the cover that is cosmetic and minor, and a small ding in the passenger side trailers wheel well, but other than that the boat is in new condition. When you open the engine compartment, you will see that there is no oil or any signs of usage on the motor at all, including the engine cover. It looks brand new and basically is. The trailer is an EZ Loader trailer with a braking system. The light harness needs to have a new end put on it. A minimal cheap fix. The board racks are removed for covering the boat as well as winter storage but they are there and snap back on easily and in perfect shape, they just aren't in the overall pictures because they are not on it, they are laying on the floor of the boat until they need to be put back on. This beauty has tons of extras, Custom made Roswell WAKEBOARD TOWER made of T6 series Aircraft Aluminum which will not rust!....Volvo Penta Upgraded Motor V8, 5L, small block, VEC which is Virtual Engineered Composites which was a new technology and put onto on a few select models at the time this boat was made. This technology provides many features including a stronger hull, enhanced performance, better fuel economy, and a solid more responsive ride. It also has a super high quality finish, both inside and out, exterior colors are brighter, deeper, shinier. It is made with a one piece design, providing uniform fit, seamless beauty, easy cleanup, no fiberglass loose strands. This boat has a limited lifetime warranty that is transferable to the second owner. Custom Bimini Top, custom and basic life vests, plus all safety products, paddles, everything incl. and MANY UPGRADES and extras.....Interior is white for the base color with light silver and medium grey and charcoal grey, for accents and they are shiny, not super outrageous but classy nice shiny and rich looking. Very well done color scheme. Outside is white with black accents. This boat is was stored indoors until recently. We are asking 19,900.00..it bluebooks for WAY over this price, at 23K LOW blue book last I checked recently. I'm NOT making a profit off this sale as it is, so im just trying to spare myself bad credit because i will not be able to pay for this soon. MUST SELL IMMEDIATELY.. It is financed through Sierra Central Credit Union, and the credit union said that if you want to assume the loan instead of cash pay, that you can apply there and it would be transferred over to your account if you quality, but at the interest rate that you qualify for (which is way lower interest rate than I have on it, because back then, the rates were 9% and I'm told that they are 2-4% right now with good credit (do not quote me or hold me liable for that quote but when i asked they told me that and i have been looking but it depends on your credit and circumstance). I do have a list of other boat lenders for good and not so good credit too, so ask if you need that. The loan is NOT late. It is current, I am forced into this sale because of my divorce etc. So please dont hesitiate to call. This is basically a BRAND NEW BOAT! THIS IS a steal for this price so please let me know if you want to work this out with the credit union or another lender or buy it outright. NO LOW BALLERS! Some negotiation may be in this but until you try her out and see this amazing craft in person, you cant make an informed decision. You will not be disappointed! The rundown is that you will be getting an amazing deal on a basically new reliable beautiful boat without having to pay full price for it. This boat is remarkable and was serviced and taken care of. It is a tiny bit dusty from having cover off to have avail. to show and the tower could be polished up but the motor compartment is spotless and there is ZERO signs of any oil as this is a new boat and everything looks and is brand new still and the craft itself has been well taken care of so it was stored properly. This is worth looking at. It is a gorgeous boat and an excellent buy. If youre looking for a reliable new like boat for a good deal, my boat is the one! Please look and see for yourself. You are more than welcome to take it to a mechanic and or test it out for yourself. I have no problem with letting someone who's interested try it out.

2009 Rambo 27 This is a seek center console with clean, attractive lines that is all about fishing and playing in the sun but also cleans up nicely enough to go to dinner on in the evening. Has a live well behind the center console that holds bait, fish, and serves as deck storage also, plus bow storage up front. 250 HP Suzuki with approximately 400 hours provides a comfortable, fuel efficient 30 knot cruise with plenty of power left and over 40 knot top speed.  Has been used primarily for fishing in the bays and occasionally out to 30 miles offshore. Performs admirably in seas up to 4’ wind waves. Was used twice to pull skiers and a tube. Has plenty of power to get a 220 LB. guy up on a competition slalom ski with three other people on-board. Also has a custom stainless steel outrigger pole designed to tow a side-scan sonar for finding fishing spots.   Trailer is a tandem axle aluminum I-beam drive-on with hydraulic surge brakes.  Despite being a 27’ long boat it still tows behind a ½ truck or large SUV. Boat, motor and trailer were all in 100% perfect condition, a fresh coat of wax and recent Suzuki dealer engine service when it was stolen. The engine is repairable but may be easier to replace the top end. The dealer said the ECU (engine control unit) was damaged and stopped the assessment at that point. All large electronics like the VHF radio, stereo, satellite radio, etc. and most wiring have been removed.  Has transducer from Furuno sonar installed which should be fine to reuse. Trailer recently passed a safety inspection but needs bearings.  After being recovered the boat was thoroughly washed, compounded, polished, waxed and looks great again. This boat needs upper engine work and new electronics to repair the theft damage.  It is a newer boat and was in perfect condition when stolen as such it is a great opportunity to get a boat that even after repairs will cost substantially less than an equivalent used boat and have all current new electronics, etc.  This boat owned by a USCG licensed master captain with over 30 years of boating experience.  Kept this boat for enjoyment. Is running private yachts in Alaska now and it is difficult for him to deal with repairs when he is away. Has a mechanic 250 miles away with a Suzuki power head and all other required parts who will do the engine work.  A buyer can have a great deal on a fairly new boat just by repairing the trailer bearings and towing the boat up the coast to get the engine repaired then install whatever electronics are desired.

It is also reported that the boat collided head on with a catamaran. Damage to the anchor locker, and boat was dismasted. The vessel will need repair to the anchor locker area, and a new mast and sails. It appears that no water penetrated into the vessel. The boat has never been chartered, but was sailed in Canada, for 3 years (seasonal for 3 months each year). Take it for a ride, take a look at it in person. .Repowered in 2006 with a 4 stroke Mercury/ Yamaha Saltwater series engine, 225 HP (Made by Yamaha)The engine is perfect. Starts and runs like new, because it almost IS new. Very few hours, used a few times a season for an hour or two. There is no hour meter on the engine, however there is probably between 100 and 150 hours on the motor, maybe less. The Hull and Deck are in Excellent Condition. NO delamination, No Swells, Bubbles or Soft Spots, No Damage. This is a Solid, Clean Boat! This boat is in excellent mechanical condition and Very Good to Excellent condition overall. It has the improved SeaV2 hull design by Grady, that improves performance and ride.Power trim tabs can compensate for heavy cargo or load on one side, or to bring the craft on plane quicker.Hydraulic steering is standard as are numerous other features not mentioned here.Has 2 covers. One is a bimini type with clear side curtains and clear extended front windshield allows you to stand normally while protected. The other is a full cockpit enclosure that protects the seating area when not in use, for those that like some sun when they're piloting. Boat comes with depth finder, anchor, all safety equipment, lines, and ready to go.This boat has a freshwater system with automatic pressure pump, a fresh water transom shower, stand up shower in the head, and for the 2 sinks. The private head features a hand pumped built in head with macerator and pump-out, and a stand up shower with the sink faucet on a hose.Galley features a fresh water faucet, cutting board and ac/dc refrigerator. There are a few minor (cosmetic) items that you may want to repair, but they do not affect the running or performance of the boat. Hull & Deck are perfect. They are:-Small vent window (port side) is missing on side of cockpit. It can be made using the starboard side window as a template. It's exactly the same.-Anchor pulpit has gelcoat chipped away on the surface. The core of the pulpit is strong, it looks bad but can be repaired or replaced easily. -Some chips on the lids a couple of storage compartments. This can be easily repaired by a fiberglass repair person. The Last Picture shows the Bow Pulpit with wear & tear damage of the gel coat. It looks like chips or cracks. This is a cosmetic issue now only affecting the gel coat, but should be addressed. That's the only thing wrong and the only place it is present. The lids have some wear and tear only on the lids. The deck and hull are perfect. No soft areas, chips, damage or warping. This boat is in excellent condition. It's been professionally serviced by Mercury mechanics and stored covered in the winter out of the water.Motor - There is a new (last season) lower unit on the engine. The 215 DB has much more functionality than the boat it replaces and a full interior fiberglass liner. Equally as important, the model has style as well. We think beef with sizzle is a winning combination. The boat also has a surprising number of innovations, plus several good design details we have been urging builders to incorporate for years. We tested this boat with the wind howling at 20 knots and a long fetch so we got insight into how she handles in conditions beyond her job description.Key FeaturesStandard hull gel colors in Black, Patriot Blue and RedInterior upgrade to Desert SandStandard helm windscreen may be replaced by an optional wraparound windshield, providing additional wind protection in the cockpitAll-new helm design with upgraded easy-to-read instrumentation and sport steering wheelSpacious bow seating area with easy to reach grab handles and cup holdersA roomy in-floor locker accommodates skis, water toys and other gear. All new Bayliner deckboats have cockpit liners. Mission Statement The mission of the Bayliner 215 DB is to increase Bayliner's competitiveness in the popular and highly competitive deckboat market. Where previously we've seen Bayliner’s deckboats as simply open hulls with a lot of seating, now we're seeing much more functionality and creativity. Based on customer feedback, Bayliner discovered that over 30% of the dayboat market spends most of the day at the stern of the boat. For that reason, Bayliner focused a good portion of its new design on the aft seating at the swim platform. The Bayliner 215 DB comes standard with a smoked windscreen seen at the bottom. The wraparound windshield is offered as an option, otherwise both models are the same. The extended swim platform is optional on both models. Distinguishing Features • Capacity for 12. Massive L-shaped seating in the cockpit and a wide bow that carries the beam well forward allows for plenty of seating inside the 215 DB. • Three Across Transom Seating. Not only does she have lots of seating inside, she also has more seating at the transom to use when at anchor. • Windshield or No Windshield. Buyers can choose between having a wraparound windshield with a center walkthrough or a small windscreen over the helm console and an open walkthrough. • Removable Toy Storage Cubby Under the L-shaped seating is a plastic storage bin. This feature allows users to bring aboard a particular bin filled with the toys specific to the day’s mission, whether it is taking off to a remote beach, fishing, or simply heading out for a day on the water. • Flip-Up Cockpit Table. Recessed into the starboard bulwarks. This makes a great use of space and eliminates the need to find a place to store the table and a pedestal, and the hassle of setting it all up. • Compartmentalized Storage. The usual storage compartments are located under the bow seats and this time they feature a unique twist. Bayliner inserted removable dividers that separate the compartments into three individual storage spaces. This is a feature we've never seen before and the utility and functionality of it became immediately apparent as soon as the cushion was removed. • Hull Gel -- Black, Patriot Blue and Red. I like colored hulls but most builders charge extra for it. The 215 DB comes standard with a Black, Patriot Blue or Red hull which will set the boat apart from the pack. • Sterndrive Performance. The Bayliner 215 DB has an LOA of 20'7" (6.27 m), a beam of 8'6" (2.56 m) and a draft of 3’ (.91 m). With an empty weight of 4,027 lbs. (1,826 kg), 50 gallons (189 L) of fuel and two people on board we had a test weight of 4,747 lbs (2,153 kg). WOT With a 220-hp MerCruiser 4.3 L engine turning a 14.5 x 19 x 3 Black Max propeller powering our test boat, we reached a top speed at 5000 rpm of 45.7 mph. At that speed, fuel burn was 19.3 gph giving us a range of 117 miles. • Best Cruise. Best cruise came in at 3000 rpm and 26.3 mph. That reduced the fuel burn to only 6.45 gph which the 215 DB could keep up for seven hours and 49 minutes and 202 miles while still maintaining a 10% fuel reserve. We reached planing speed at 3.8 seconds, accelerated to 20 mph in 7.6 seconds and continued accelerating to 30 mph in 11.3 seconds. Five Engine Options. The 215 DB Bayliner offers engines from 190-hp to 260-hp. We tested with the 220-hp engine so the performance seen in our test has only one way to go with the more powerful engines. This range of options allows consumers to match the horsepower to the application, expected load aboard, and wallet. The Bayliner 215 DB has a top speed just under 46 mph with the base 4.3 L 220-hp engine. Handling Visibility at the helm was limited by the upper frame of the optional windshield that was right in my line of sight at no wake speed. However, at cruise speed the 215 DB has a five-degree bow high attitude which brings the center of the windshield directly in line of sight. Upon accelerating the bow comes up 16-degrees while staying well below the line of the horizon. Above the rubrail the 215 DB presents the squared off foredeck of the deckboat, but below she's all V-hull with a 16-degree deadrise at the transom. Bringing the trim up to the 1/4 mark on the trim gauge brought us into the five-degree cruising attitude where she seems to perform best. When turning, the 215 DB exhibits a 12-degree lean into the turns. Rough Water Test. We tested her in Sarasota Bay when it was blowing over 20 knots and there was a long fetch making the conditions so sloppy our photo boat had a hard time getting any video footage capable of being watched. Virtually all deckboats are intended for use in protected water and that is why they generally have low freeboard. In other words, we had the 215 DB in conditions beyond her intended envelope. Nevertheless, on the straight at high speed she stayed in control and did not oscillate. She handled following seas well because of her speed and the built-in buoyancy just under her foredeck. In beam seas she did rock back and forth from chine to chine as one might expect in such conditions. The 215 DB has an average cockpit depth of 32" which is quite deep for this type of boat, and in fact is more than some conventional bowriders this size. Overall, I came away with respect for this boat's ability to take care of herself in snotty conditions. In turns, the 215 DB leans 12-degrees into it. At no-wake speed the upper frame of the windshield is right in my line of sight, but at cruise visibility is excellent. Features Walkthrough Stern The stern received the major portion of the design creativity in the 215 DB. Customer feedback shows that a full 20% of the dayboat market spends most of their time at the stern, therefore it quickly became apparent that the same-old-same-old was not going to cut it. Here, Bayliner went with three across seating in a chaise lounge configuration. The port seat lifts to reveal storage underneath with the seat/hatch held open by dual gas assist struts. The seatbacks also elevate and get propped up by stands tucked behind. Frankly, all that's missing from the equation are drink holders and a stereo remote. Three across seating at the stern makes for a great place to hang out at any time that the 215 DB is not underway. Notice the chromed engine vents underneath. This aft seating is one of the big differences between the 215 DB and her outboard-powered sister, the 210 DB. The seatbacks can be propped up for those that don't need to be fully reclined in chaise lounge position. The portside seat lifts to reveal storage underneath. Standard Extended Swim Platform. It's surprising that Bayliner included a 2’ (.6 m) extended swim platform added to the 14” (35.6 cm) molded platform as a standard feature, simply because most affordable boats have this item as an option. It's a "must-have" addition for any boat destined to provide the space to easily launch towing as well as to be a comfortable swim platform. High marks to Bayliner for including it. A three-step reboarding ladder is mounted under the starboard quarter, directly in line with the walkthrough to the cockpit. When it comes to functionality of the stern at anchor, the 215 DB will be hard to beat no matter how expensive the boat. The extended swim platform is optional and includes a three-step reboarding ladder to starboard, in clear sight of the helm. Engine Compartment The 215 DB is a sterndrive-powered boat and the engine is accessed by manually lifting a hatch at the stern. A grab handle is exposed by pulling the seat cushion forward and reaching just under the seat back. Two gas-assist struts hold the hatch in the open position. The installation itself was a little tight but considering that no one will be crawling into this compartment, Bayliner did a good job of ensuring that the installation still allowed for easy access for daily engine checks and light maintenance. The engine is accessed by lifting a hatch that is held open by dual gas assist struts. Notice the seat to the right of the shot remains stationary. The aluminum fuel tank has a diurnal vent filtration system, the same equipment used on more expensive boats. The bilge pump is manually operated by a switch at the helm. There is room to the side of the engine for the battery, but Bayliner has chosen not to place it there. Rather, it is located inside the cockpit under the corner of the L-shaped seating where it is easier to access and install. At the bottom of the image is the electric bilge pump which is activated by a switch on the dash. To the left of the engine is the hose for the transom shower right next to an insulated cooler mounted in the deck to the walk-through to the cockpit. Options For Increased Utility To give its customers extra utility, Bayliner makes a couple of optional packages available so the whole family can enjoy their favorite watersports. Flight Series Option Our test boat was equipped with a Flight Series package that really added to the looks and functionality of the 215 DB. It includes the swim platform extension and a collapsible tower with the tow point 6'10" (2.08 m) off the deck. Board racks mounted to the outside of the tower will hold four racks in addition to any going into the usual sole storage compartment. The package also includes hull side graphics that, along with the forward facing tower, a Bimini top with boot, a color choice of Black, Red and Blue with deck gel strioe included and a stainless steel upgrade package, really adds to the "eye-candy" appeal to the 215 DB. The Flight Series package includes the hull side graphics and wakeboard tower (shown here without the board racks and integrated Bimini top). The optional Flight Series tower with the Bimini top installed. By removing a nut at the rear arch support, the wakeboard tower is able to collapse towards the windshield reducing the clearance so that the 215 DB can fit into a garage. Hint… wait till the boat is on the trailer to remove the nut. Fishing Package Option. Add specific fishing functionality to the 215 DB with fore and aft casting platforms, pedestal seats, livewell and a bow trolling motor. Cockpit Seating The cockpit is entered by a step down from the stern. As noted above, all three of Bayliner's new deckboats have full fiberglass interior liners. The L-shaped seating surrounding the cockpit not only allows for plenty of people to gather around but also adds to the comfort level of the 215 DB. It includes an aft facing chaise lounge and there's the usual storage under the seats with one unique exception. Underneath the portside seat is a removable clear plastic bin, typical used to store goods at home in the basement, garage or attic that keep moisture out. Bayliner's clever concept is to provide a dedicated space for interchangeable activity-specific bins. Going out fishing? Grab the fishing gear bin. Heading to the beach? Grab the bin with the snorkels, masks and frisbees. A space for removable storage bins allows for easy packing of the day's supplies, regardless of what the mission happens to be. At the walkthrough to the cockpit there's a transom shower and an in-deck insulated storage compartment that can be used as a cooler or a fish box. In addition to being an excellent gathering spot, the cockpit also serves as a convenient impromptu dining area. A flip up table is recessed into the starboard bulwarks and when deployed is within easy reach of not only the rear of the L-shaped seating but the swiveled helm seat, too. Bayliner was thinking out of the box when it located the battery here under the seat, making it easy to install, jump, and available to power air pumps without having to get into the engine room. The cockpit table is seen here in the retracted position nestled in the starboard bulwarks. … and the table seen here in the deployed position. Underneath, a flip out support holds the table in the elevated position. Sole Storage The sole storage compartment on the 215 DB is huge. It runs fore and aft 7'3" (2.2 m), has a depth of 14'' (35.6 cm) and the opening measures 40" x 14" (102 cm x 35.6 cm), easily making the compartment large enough for additional kneeboard, wakeboard or ski storage. The hatch is held open by a gas assist strut and a latch locks automatically upon closing, as opposed to having to turn it in just the right direction. This is another little detail that I like and I wish all builders would adopt it. The snap in carpeting on the deck is optional. The sole storage locker is more than large enough to accommodate wakeboards. Helm Console The helm has been completely redesigned rather than simply picking up with the same design from previous models. The panel remains a bright white but the angle of the optional windshield removed any concerns about glare. Gone are the mundane white-faced gauges with chrome bezels and in their place are much more modern 3-in-1 gauges with a pair of smaller gauges embedded in the lower right-hand corners. Bayliner completely redesigned the helm of this boat with a functional, clean layout. Dual multifunction gauges reduce clutter. The covered compartment underneath is self draining and rubber padding lines the bottom. This compartment is ideal for cell phones, keys and other small items. A space below the trim gauge will accommodate an optional digital depth indicator. Bayliner thoughtfully added two drink holders in the panel, a nice touch as one generally gets used for holding anything but drinks. A standard stereo remote is to the left of the panel. Dual rows of rocker switches flank the black three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel mounted to a tilt base. The only area that could use a little rethinking is how the 12V supply is on the complete opposite side of the panel from the MP3 port. This means the typical user will have a wire running across the dash, in one direction or another, from the MP3 player. I am very happy to see a covered self draining storage compartment below the gauges for an operator to put "stuff". I have been urging builders to do this for years and I'm happy to see that the Bayliner designers agree. Bayliner added an armrest next to the helm seat. A hinged top to take advantage of the space inside for storage would be my suggestion for the Mark II version. A door to the left of the console opens to reveal storage that includes dedicated space for a 25 quart (23.6 L) carry-on cooler. The door is secured with a stainless piano hinge and it closes against the gasket, completely surrounding the opening to eliminate annoying vibration while the 215 DB is underway. A 25 quart (23.6 L) cooler gets a dedicated spot inside the helm console. Port Console The port console comes standard as a roomy storage compartment that can be easily made into a head with the addition of an optional Porta-Potti. A strap at the hinge point prevents the door from opening far enough to slam into the helm console. It's cramped inside with headroom measuring 3'6" (1.1 m), so, in the head configuration, it certainly won't be used for any "false alarms". But sexist as it may sound, with women aboard necessity trumps comfort so high marks to Bayliner for including the option. It's also ideal for children. An opening portlight in the hull provides ventilation. The port console can be used for storage or an optional Porta-Potti converts it to a head. Bow Seating The space between the dual consoles is 20” (51 cm) wide and leads to a wide open bow that is characteristic of the deckboat genre. With the beam being carried so far forward I measured 5'11" (1.8 m) between the padded bolsters and 2'6" (.8 m) between the seat cushions for the foot well. While seated there was just enough room for me to stretch my legs to the forward seat backs and with the seatbacks raised slightly above the caprails, it creates a padded armrest wrapping around the bow. Speakers and grab handles are tucked underneath the side bolsters. A strap at the inside of the cushions not only adds another grab point but also allows for easy removal of the cushions and serves as another example of how Bayliner has gotten the hang of adding thoughtful features that don't add much expense. The bow offers plenty of room for seating and an optional filler cushion will turn the entire space into a sun pad. Clever Storage Forward. Of course there are the usual accommodations for storage underneath the forward cushions, but Bayliner added a little creativity here as well. Inside the side storage compartments are dividers that, in effect, separate the compartment into three individual storage bins. The dividers are removable making the storage customizable. This is a clever feature that we've never seen before and the utility and functionality of it became apparent as soon as the cushion was removed. The forward cushion is also removable to reveal covered storage. Here’s an interesting feature… the storage compartments under the two side seats are compartmentalized and the dividers are easily removed to customize the storage. Foredeck Forward of the bow seating is deck space with hatches over two storage compartments flanking a concealed three-step beach reboarding ladder. This not only serves as a great spot for jumping into the water, but adds to the functionality of the 215 DB should an owner choose to add the optional fishing package that will have a pedestal seat and a trolling motor in this location. Pricing The MSRP including freight, fees, fuel surcharge and some options is $36,863 with the standard 220-hp MPI/A1 4.3 L carbureted V-6 engine. (If you are wondering how a carbureted engine can be available in the U.S. -- outside of California -- the answer is because like the auto industry, companies in the marine business must meet overall emission requirements for the engines it sells in any given year. So some engines make up for others and it is the job of the builder to keep track.) When I look over the options list I see three items that I would recommend: 1) a cockpit cover, $700; 2) a Bimini top with boot, $786; and, 3) the swim platform extension, $843. The bow of the 215 DB offers roomy storage compartments to either side of a concealed three-step reboarding ladder. Observations Bayliner set out to re-create its deckboat lineup and it's clear that its designers surveyed the most popular deckboats on the market and tried to incorporate the best features in the new Bayliner 215 DB. She is loaded with thoughtful features, and a good dose of innovations that are sure to elevate Bayliner’s competitive stance in the deckboat arena. An outboard version of the Bayliner 215 DB is also available. She is called the 210 DB and comes standard with a 150-hp EFI 4-stroke Mercury. While the forward 75% of the boat is the same as the 215, the stern configuration is quite different and I think anyone in the market for a deckboat should at least take a look at the outboard iteration. Our test and full Captain's Report can be found here…Bayliner 215 DB (2014-) Test Result HighlightsTop speed for the Bayliner 215 DB (2014-) is 45.7 mph (73.5 kph), burning 19.30 gallons per hour (gph) or 73.05 liters per hour (lph).
