The seller states that everything is in good working condition to his knowledge - as noted previously the marine head has never been used in the year that he has owned the boat. He purchased it from an estate sale of a local sailor who passed after an illness. The family did not have any records or real working knowledge of the vessel. The seller has obtained an owner's manual for this vessel and has it in the desk area of the cabin (just under the VHF radio) as shown in the photos. The local representative took all the photos and video of the listing and they accurately reflect the current condition of the listing and its primary features. A survey and water trial are recommended and supported by the seller, with an agreeable offer on this vessel. Stock #401422 WELL APPOINTED AND MAINTAINED!! A REAL BEAUTY!! READY FOR THE WATER!! Looking for a Beneteau Oceanis 281 - this is a rare opportunity to find a well cared for Oceanis 281 that is in very good condition for her years. The well-appointed and maintained 28 foot Beneteau is equipped with a Yanmar 18 hp Diesel engine and has Doyle mainsail and roller furl jib sails and is rigged for single sailor sailing. The running gear and lines were all replaced in 2023. The boat is equipped with the Benetenau raked stern and inverse transom that makes it easy to go for a swim on the lake and reentry is quick and easy via the drop-down swim ladder and the pull-up helm seat provides easy and quick access to the transom area. The aft cockpit has plenty of seating around the large stainless steel wheel that is equipped with navigation devices (large compass, speed, and depth gauges). The hatch and sliding cover keep the cabin below warm and dry on a windy day, or you can open them up and enjoy the breeze with the vents in front of the main mast and the porthole windows on both sides of the cabin area. Down below the beautiful woodwork has been well maintained and literally glows when you enter - the galley is equipped with a 2 burner alcohol stove, a sink, and a cold storage cabinet. The cabin is equipped with a Furion Stereo system and speakers throughout the vessel, a VHF radio, and plenty of storage space throughout the vessel. The head is on the starboard side and the entry into the aft cabin is on the port side. The Yanmar Diesel engine is beneath the companionway steps and is easily accessed by releasing 3 quick locks and moving the steps aside. The engine battery is new in 2023 and the engine has been serviced in 2023. There is a second battery for house functions under the galley sink. The marine head has never been used by the current owner - and he does not know the capacity of the holding tank. Sail Inventory - Doyle Mainsail and Furling Jib Sail - sail bags are in the cabinet below the stove. All of the cushions and woodwork are in lovely condition above and below deck. The galley has a two-burner stove with oven, fridge, double sink, pantry, storage cabinets, and a dining booth. There are 2 cabins, one up front and one aft, with two full heads. The vessel is in good condition. The engine is clean and well maintained. The Interior has beautiful light wood that goes well with the white upholstery. The seller has just purchased new Main and #1 Genoa and #2 Genoa Black Carbon Fiber Racing Sails from Great Britian - will be installed February 2024 and will provide updated photos once installed. Bottom is scrubbed monthly - plans to sail the boat to New Brunswick in April and have the bottom redone at that time. The wood on cockpit hatches is weathered, but otherwise in good shape. Stock #254117 Highly sought after but hard to find. Race ready. New Racing Sails. The Beneteau First 10R is a racer/cruiser and is fast. She can cruise easily at 8 knots or more in good sailing conditions. Powerful sail plan with asymmetrical spinnaker and a bulb keel. Power is provided by a reliable Yanmar diesel engine. The cockpit features a very large steering wheel, open transom, and seating underneath storage. The Interior has a galley with a stove, sink and a ice box. The main salon has dual sofas that can be used for berths and a fan. The Head is forward in the bow area and sails can be loaded through the roof. Equipped with a Main that was new in 2014. There are three Headsails depending on conditions. A Light #1 (2018), Heavy #1 (2016), and a #3 (2014) Choose your Spinnaker from a Full Assymetrical, Reduced A sail, or a Code Zero. There is also a Bow Sprit on the starboard bow to attach your spinnaker if need be. The owner is installing new Carbon Fiber Grand Prix racing sails by Craig (high end designer for Olmer) - Main Sail, #1 Genoa & #2 Genoa. All the sails mentioned previously will still go with the boat as well. The Standing Rigging is original but reported to be in great shape and the 4 Winches are all self tailing. The boat could use a complete exterior and interior detail. There are a lot of items in the cabin that needs to be organized and stowed away. The bottom paint is overdue, the bottom may need to be cleaned before the boat can be moved. The running rigging is weathered, the standing rigging may need to be tuned. This Beneteau First 42 is a large double-spreader sailing yacht that is well-equipped for cruising. The boat's standing rigging is substantial and shows little to no corrosion. Winches turned freely, the roller cars and tracks were clean, stanchions were sturdy and lifelines were in good shape. The deck was intact, overall, some crazing was noted on the starboard side of the cockpit, see photo. There is a canvas bimini which is showing some wear but is useable. The mainsail cover is in good shape. Both are blue. The boat's electrical system was updated with a new alternator, a solar controller-charger, and new batteries in 2021. Two 100-watt solar panels are included, they have not been mounted or used. One cabin sole section is soft from one of the water tanks overflowing on a long cruise. There was moisture or condensation visible from the forward deck hatch and a starboard window. Portholes were generally tight and in good condition. The VHF radio and autopilot were added in 2022. The boat runs great and sails like a dream, the owner confirms. The shaft seal will likely need to be serviced.
