1973 Rampart 48 Wild Goose (formerly Aristobatta, formerly Lady Mary Ann) is a 1973 Rampart 48 designed by Horace Desty and built by the Rampart Boat Building Company in the United Kingdom. After thirteen years of ownership and numerous significant upgrades, the sellers have placed her on the market as they prepare to down-size. She is currently docked in Newport, Rhode Island.   The length over all of this vessel is 48; the beam is 12; she draws 41. Bridge clearance is 28. Her frames are Canadian rock elm and her planking is 1 Iroko. She is ballasted by a partial steel keel in addition to internal ballast. Wild Goose is powered by twin 1973 Mercedes Benz OM 352 diesels delivering 125 HP each. The starboard engine, replaced about 1976, has 10,000 hours. The port engine has 12,000 hours. She is driven by three blade bronze propellers. The original generator has been removed from the boat. Accompanying the boat is a portable 2016 Yamaha EF2000iS generator. Wild Goose cruises at 8 to 9 knots at 1200 RPMs consuming about 3 gallons per hour. Maximum speed is 15 knots at 2800 RPMs. New Vetus waterlift mufflers were installed in 2011.   In 2016 the wheel house was completely replaced by Tern Boatworks of Nova Scotia. Construction materials included two layers of marine plywood, epoxy painted on the interior as well as ¼ mahogany on the outside. The original mahogany beams were retained for use in the wheel house ceiling. Custom made aluminum frame windows were fabricated to replace the originals. See the accompanying photographs of the rebuild.   The teak decks are 1 ¼ thick and widths vary from 3 ¼ on the foredeck to 3 ½ moving aft. The teak is finished with seven coats of Coelan.   The 24 volt electrical system is adaptable to both American and European electrical systems. The boat is wired for both 30 and 50 amp service.   In 2011 a number of upgrades were completed in preparation for her cruise of the English coastline, the eastern United States and the Canadian Maritimes. New upholstery was added throughout the entire interior. The galley was fitted out with a new refrigerator/freezer and a new three burner stove and oven by SMEV. The galley counter top was replaced in 2016.   Tankage includes one 350 gallon fuel tank that was cleaned and inspected in October 2016. There is a 300 gallon water tank and a 25 gallon holding tank.   This is a three cabin, two head motor yacht that accommodates six in comfort and privacy. There is a double berth in the focsle, two single berths forward of the wheel house as well as the owners cabin aft featuring a center line queen berth. 1972 Nautor's Swan 48 Sloop “CONSTELLATION” has a long nautical history and has played a very important part in the sailing and military heritage of the USA.  The United States Naval Academy owned this beautiful sailboat from December, 1979 to December, 1997, when it was sold to the current owner. She was sailed and won the 653-mile Newport-to-Bermuda Race for the first time in Naval Academy history in June, 1992, with Ensign Kyle Weaver at the helm along with his 8 midshipmen crew.  Ensign Weaver was the youngest skipper to win this race and bring home the St. David's Lighthouse Trophy.  This incredible accomplishment is still remembered among midshipmen everywhere. Today, Commander Weaver is still serving his country in the US Navy. The “CONSTELLATION” was designed by Sparkman & Stephens of New York and built in 1972 (Hull 11) in Finland with the Swan “Passion for Craftsmanship”.  Nautor’s Swan has been the true sailor’s choice for close to a half a century by designing and building luxurious, high performance yachts in Northern Finland. Swan has a strong heritage, skilled craftsmen, and pursuit of excellence in every aspect of the build. The current owner took three (3) years refitting the “CONSTELLATION” in order to make her comfortable for cruising, mechanically sound, and capable of sailing any blue water challenge.  Since 1997, the boat has received complete upgrades and refits including new teak decks, total new electrical wiring, new plumbing, new stainless steel fuel tanks, new water and holding tanks, new Yanmar 76HP turbo engine, new Panda 3.9KW Generator, which is located is a custom slide-out cabinet for easy access.  She has been refitted with (2) Barient 28 3-speed coffee grinders, (2) Andersen 62ST 2-speed electric winches, (2) air conditioning/heating compressors, water maker (virgin, never used), Zeda water purifier, and the list goes on and on.  “CONSTELLATION” is a cutter rig with only 46 having been built from 1971-1975.
