This is a project boat. As per the seller, the hull is sound and the engine is in great running condition. The existing cabin interior condition looks to be good, just needs to be finished. The hull and deck need a good cleaning. Stock #256888 1980 Chris-Craft 280!! This is a Project Boat...but a Good One with Everything Included, Just needs to be Installed. Located in Plains, Montana, this 30-foot used Chris-Craft is a great express cruiser. Chris-Craft is an iconic brand whose boats offer classic traits and are suited for cruising any water. Powered by a Chevy 350 cu in engine with electronic ignition and a Velvet Drive transmission. Only run briefly for 15 minutes on a test stand. The engine is mounted, aligned and wired to the boat. Just needs to be hooked up to the battery and it's ready to go. The engine has a freshwater, Closed Cooling System. This Chris-Craft boat comes with a Custom Built trailer with Electric-Drum brakes on all four wheels and an extended hitch. Chose of two fuel tanks that are not installed. One is 50 gallons and the other is 140 gallons. They're Aluminum and we're custom made for the boat. Two new 30 gallon fresh water tanks also need to be installed as well as batteries. - 120 volt shore power system. - Two Bronze, three-blade props. - Refrigerator is 12 volt. - Stove is alcohol or electric. Cabin has 7 feet of headroom. Also a shower, sink and new dining table. All the upholstery is new, upgraded marine grade Naugahyde and foam. Flooring is also new. New porta-potty in box with five gallon tank. Wiring must be finished and engine components must be installed and the all materials are there for the buyer to finish. The Chris-Craft Hercules flathead engines well maintained Interior wood has been refinished and is in very good condition. The Chris O Matic electro-hydraulic shifting system was removed and a lever rod and bell crank system was installed. The "Crash I matic" was an optional upgrade and proved to be a terrible system. This conversion was done by most owners. According to the seller, this made the boat one of the best slow-speed maneuvering boats he had ever driven given its large twin screws, engines with ample torque at idle, large twin rudders placed directly aft of the props and Paragon transmissions. She's very easy to maneuver in a crowded marina. Hull has been treated with high-tech polymers. This vessel was clean and well-kept. The interior carpet and ceiling were in great shape. All the cushions on the interior appeared to be in great shape. Most exterior upholstery was in great shape.
